If only Canucks had their ‘24 2nd round pick and not have sent it out for cap space for Bear. Maybe they could have pulled in Durzi.

Pretty sure it was a 5th for bear, but great effort

That’s exactly what the Canucks need, serviceable/affordable players with size in their 4/5/6 role on defence. This is where a young defenceman on an ELC would be an excellent fit for the Canucks. Someone like Mattias Samuelsson over there in Buffalo the past couple years.

Yeah, I guess never drafting in the 2nd round is starting to hurt. Schenn was our discount sizable defender last year. But honestly, I think we are missing the Girard/Byram/Toews element more than the Johnsons of the world.

Avalanche also had Jack Johnson at 6'1 225lbs

I bet Neem is the life of the party.

We have traded so.many 1st and 2nd round picks over the past 10 years it's really hard to have any type of depth at all.

Had we not been gifted Kuzmenko our outlook would be far worse.

Hearing Carolina and Jordan Staal are indeed closing on an extension. Whatever hurdles existed are being cleared.

Will smith is a top5 pick, kind of a no poop Sherlock on that one. I’ve been Simachev or Moore for a long while too.

Kind of like I picked him well before the regular season was close to ending. He would now be a trade up option if they go that route. Now your fully informed Sherlock 👍

Simashev has always been my 1st trade down option.

I don’t think you trade down tbh, too many teams need

Any trade down has a big purpose behind it. Not saying one happens but I’ve always been about being proactive & ready if a deal falls into their lap. This draft could be a wild ride in the 1st round. Just a gut feeling lots of fireworks are in store before or during the draft.

“In addition to this currently-delayed Philadelphia trade with St. Louis, there is word the Flyers are also working on a Tony DeAngelo trade that would return him to Carolina. That one might also wait until tomorrow.”

Flyers are cleaning house Reuby, you want this, jump onboard.

It really depends on what they feel the biggest organizational need is. If it’s defence, moving back to #13-#15-#17, all plausible, it’s really the best thing if you’re trying to get a good young defenseman. That will depend on how the draft falls though.

It should depend on the players on their board. You can't fall in love with any one guy at 11 though where you wouldn't consider trading back based on the offer.

Funny how you have the ability to flip between the 10 or so teams you cheer for in one thread!

Agree, if it’s defence, just a guess, a huge organizational need, then moving back if there’s a few of these good young dmen there is a no brainer. Teams usually don’t move back more than a few (5) spots.

Sounds more like the Flyers are trying the retool on the fly program. Sounds all to familiar.

This what we are hearing…

Philly trades Hayes, Sanheim to St. Louis for Krug, first round pick, prospect. Krug is then flipped to New Jersey for more assets #FueledByPhilly  #stlblues  #NJDevils

I have to wonder why NJ would want Krug
