Ya, what an idiot, thinking players with size will make the Canucks, look how fantastic the team has been with the small and/or soft players. - Reubenkincade
I think after all these years Lefty finally got something right suggesting Hughes and Hronek are the skilled players now time for size and stay home D with a touch of toughness.
This is why I want Shimashev if they do keep the pick.

Size Queen - neem55
Tocchet knows the Canucks need size in order to compete in the Western Conference, he's said so much publicly. I personally think Edmonton is as close as they've ever been to contending for a Cup in the McDavid era, look at how big their defense is now, it's sizable. Are they exceptionally talented or gonna punch your lights out, no, but they're gonna lean on you and you're gonna be tired before the games over. The Canucks desperately need to get bigger.
Edmonton
Ekholm - 6'4" 215 lbs
Nurse - 6'4" 220 lbs
Bouchard - 6'3" 200 lbs
Kulak - 6'1" 200 lbs
Desharnais - 6'6" 220 lbs
Broberg - 6'3" 200 lbs
Vegas
Pietrangelo 6'3" 215 lbs
Theodore 6'2" 200 lbs
Hague 6'6" 230 lbs
McNabb 6'4" 215 lbs
Martinez 6'1' 215 lbs
Whitecloud 6'2" 210 lbs
Canucks
Hughes 5'10"-(ish) 180 lbs
Hronek 6'0" 190 lbs
Bear 5'11" 195 lbs
Burroughs 6'0" 190 lbs
Brisebois 6'2" 175 lbs
Hirose 6'0" 170 lbs
Myers 6'8" 230 lbs
Without Myers this is a midget AAA size defensive group. |

There are 5 or six players that I like in that range, one or 2 might even be available when Canucks pick at 17th....oh wait. |

If the Canucks were smart they'd be trading Demko to a team like Buffalo that's on the verge of competing for a big young dman and a young goalie. |

Think about it, with the size on this team Nil's b1tch will get punished every time he goes near the net, and no one other than the ref's to protect him. He's an LTIR ticket. |

He was mostly in AHL last year. He scored the OT winner in Abby when I went to see them.

Rick Dhaliwal stirring poop up.
Saying Montreal looking to trade down and Allvin was talking about moving up. Saying Vancouver has a lot of interest in Michkov and have already interviewed him. Canucks also like Simashev but they really love Danielson and think they have him much higher than a lot of other teams.
I don't know who the WHL scout is but Jett Woo, Kole Lind, Jake Virtanen, Hunter Shinkaruk the Canucks last few WHL first and second round picks.
Also Canucks be looking at Chris Tanev coming back. - manvanfan
I saw this segment. He never claimed Canucks looking at Tanev. RickD said he wants them to consider bringing him back.

Wagner going back to their bases after striking a deal. Was all about money as they had no new contract which was given to the Chechnya PMC instead. Prigozhin would have lost his army making him powerless. No one else supported that lunatic. Not an "uprising". |

One time when the Red Wings played the Colorado Avalanche, Joe Sakic skated by the Red Wings’ bench, and Sean Avery wouldn’t let the chance slip. Avery, known for his trash talking, stood up and yelled, ”Hey, Sakic!” But he was immediately pulled back down as Brett Hull grabbed him by the back of his sweater and yanked him down on the bench.
Brett Hull then looked Avery in the eyes and said, ”You are not allowed to speak to Mr. Sakic.”
Sean Avery wasn’t a veteran at the moment, and he had no choice but to obey Brett Hull, and after his words to Avery, every other guy on the Red Wings bench nodded their heads to show they agreed on what just had happened.
