All 32 teams have these contracts.

I don’t get the hate for JTM? Like paying him is wrong so trade him?

So you are saying it is okay to attack white people because you are white? I knew you were dumb but wow.

You truly have suffered so much oppression. How did you succeed despite such adversity?

If it was only for 4 years or less nobody would care, but this contract is going to be as bad as OEL's in a few years. It's also the NMC added that makes it the worst deal possible. At least if they hadn't put that in, you could handle having JT degrade offensively and defensively and then trade him in 3-4 years to someone else when the cap is over 100 mil and they can afford that caphit. Now? JT will be able to say FU to whoever is the GM in 3 or 4 years when they inevitably have to retool again and this core has aged out of it's prime.

Good point 👍🏻

I know this ain't the place to discuss this, but when I got my BSc our profs wouldn't even allow us to use that term for animals, because like people, they migrate. Even to the point of being transported by some means (like floating on debris, swim, or flying) to get to isolated islands. These animals may evolve further in isolation, but they still ain't "indigenous" by definition.

First Nation peoples are the first to get to NA and "set up shop", undisputable. But indigenous, nope.

I don't really have an opinion on the matter, but all I'll say is language evolves over time based on how we use it. I know that shouldn't apply to scientific terms, but we're kinda stuck with however the majority goes on language.

What have I said that qualifies me as a racist for you? Literally repeat anything I've said in the past that makes you think that.

(Also, I'm not Indigenous)

- NorthNuck

The suggestion that whites can only use people that are the same skin color in their avatar is pretty racist to be honest. That's just ignorant af...

Steve Harvey is a meme machine and has been for many years. It's sad that some only see skin color instead of humor and a human being.

Man I hate that term applied to people. The true definition of indigenous is originally applied to flora and it meant "originating or occurring naturally in a particular place".

First Nations people did not originate in NA. They migrated here 12,000 years ago. First Nations is the correct term to use.

- bloatedmosquito

That makes it interesting they’ve found older evidence of habitation than that. Could it be that not you may not be speaking from a place of actual knowledge?

His contract dollar is fine, I think it's just that he's come across as a bit of a selfish a-hole his whole time in Vancouver. Tocchet is the first coach to kinda put his attitude in check.

Probably last week when there appears to be a bunch of posters banned for similar types of conversations. They don't have to post here to actually be here checking on the content, apparently.

I'm sure scientifically you're right, but it's what the government uses most often

in·dig·e·nous
adjective: indigenous; adjective: Indigenous
1.
originating or occurring naturally in a particular place; native.
"coriander is indigenous to southern Europe"
2.
(of people) inhabiting or existing in a land from the earliest times or from before the arrival of colonists.
"she wants the territorial government to speak with Indigenous people before implementing a program"

- NorthNuck

He isn’t. Maybe if none of you know what you’re talking about and this isn’t the place to, you could just I don’t know… talk hockey?

Even the term First Nations is misused. The Inuit fall under this and they have only been here less than 2000 years. Not to mention they wiped out and displaced the people of the arctic when they arrived all the way to Greenland and stole their land. Sound familiar?

People have such a narrow scope when it comes to these topics.

Bruce loved him. Tochett loves him. And I know for a fact he is popular in the room. Canuck fans are betas. They want every player to be like the Sedins

I don't know, I just asked where Lordy has been and was told he's banned. So you know it was probably something similar to this type of nonsense on a hockey website.

The guy is a fantastic player, he's just selfish and isn't afraid to throw his teammates under the bus, which doesn't go over well in dressing rooms....I can tell you from personal experience dealing with people like this.

In my experience, he says way worse poop, and a lot more often than just about anyone else, not surprising he's banned. This place is a cesspool sometimes, but even then he likes to take it too far.

He was spewing some pretty hardcore hate in here. His ban was a long time coming.
