For either of Bouchard or Miller, you might have to go to the next AAV tier, which is above $6.5M per, and would cost a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd, to get the Oilers or Rangers to seriously think about not matching.

That would mean Dahlin $10M, Power at least $8M, Miller $7M, Samuelsson $4.5M.

That's roughly $30M in the top 4.

Buffalo can afford that, as long as they cycle through low cost vets and defensemen on ELC's for their bottom 3 to 4 roster spots.

Cap is projected to go up significantly in 2 years no?

Be the year to do it with so many teams hurting Cap wise. Just can't see Adams doing it.

of course he won't do it, its better than discussing the goalie situation again.

Yes.

How much would the Rangers be looking for to be interested enough to trade Miller.

A first round pick, plus...how much more?

Would nothing interest them?

If Buffalo offered Miller a 4 year deal worth $24M, would that squeeze the Rangers, or would it really take a 4 year deal at something like $30M ($7.5M per) to get the Rangers to feel anxious?

A 4 year deal would walk Miller right to UFA status.

Haven't seen his name mentioned, and I have no idea what plans Winnipeg has for next season, but how about this guy as a trade target?

I'd send someone like Olofsson to Edmonton for Evan Bouchard. A deal they couldn't resist.

I hate offersheets. I mean I love them but I hate talking about them, but Kotkaniemi gives me hope.

Offer Miller the 6.4M contract for one year, extend him 4.8x7, costs a 2024 1st and 3rd. I think he's worth a bit more to the Rangers than a playoff (!!) 1st and 3rd.

Submitting the OS and having Miller sign would be a huge turning point for the organization. It would show that management has conviction and will do what it takes to improve the team and support the core (Miller would be a core piece once in Buffalo)

Trades are hard for Adams, maybe offer sheets are more his lane.

4 years of Miller is better than most moves that could be made this offseason. Winning during that time window makes extensions easier for all involved, this move pushes the % chance of winning up IMO.

Andrew: What is the Sabresā€™ plan in net?

LL: I expect it to be Devon Levi and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Adams will inquire about goalies on the trade market and possibly check the price tag for someone such as Frederik Andersen, but there doesnā€™t seem to be an option that fits with the Sabresā€™ short- and long-term plan. Carrying two goalies on cheap contracts ensures that thereā€™s cap flexibility. However, thereā€™s also risk in betting on two unproven options.

I think you're going to want to get a genuine leather shoe and boil it for a few hours to soften it. Cut the laces so you don't have eat them like spaghetti

If Kev was happy with his goalies he wouldn't be scanning the goalie market.
