We aren't in any cap trouble though, we just have no cap to add anyone.

I read that the Leafs are going to let Holl and Kerfoot walk. I think there will be many teams letting players go because of the slow moving cap of four years. A lot of teams are wanting to make moves this year but the flat cap is going to be an anchor for some.

Canucks need to buy out OEL and start looking at moving big names. I will repeat trading Petey for Carlsson and Jiricek will change Canucks whole future now and in the future. You will have your entry level contracts on those two for three years and also Silovs will give you your three key components to a successful team.

It will also open up your cap to wheel and deal and accumulate draft picks from other teams cap strapped.

You trade Petey that is a rebuild and might as well trade the rest QH, JTM, Kuz, Demko etc.

The thing is the Canucks want to retool around Petey and lock him in long term.

Though buying out OEL now to make trades might be worth it and not to wait for cap to go up.
