There is objection when a young player is playing 4th line minutes over a significant period of time on the low minute side because a coach refuses to play and give a player enough minutes. As a team that is supposedly committed to a rebuild or whatever term you want to apply to it. They have to be committed to playing all 4 lines and giving players the ice time needed to make it beneficial to the player being placed in that role. Hopefully in the future. Tortorella doesn't have to be talked to and convinced by upper management to play the young players like last season.
- MJL

I think this three headed monster Jones Briere and Torts need to agree on what they believe the current and future roles of the players, especially the young players, will be on the team. If Briere and Jones are thinking one thing but Torts is playing them in another roll it will not work out well for the team or the player.
I think or I should say HOPE that’s what was going on when Torts and Briere were watching games in the press box last year.

Bill, excluding the Russian, what's the chances whoever they draft at 7 makes the flyers out of camp?

Unlikely.

You're right, none have been provided. None are necessary.

You have a pattern here. On the other thread, you tried to make it about not following along with the conversation, rather than the actual subject matter. Here, you're trying to make it about not answering a question to your liking. You have to resort to that due to being incapable of making a sufficient argument on the actual merits of the subject matter. Rather than discussing whether players such as Deslauriers or Lemieux should be on the roster and in the lineup. The best you could come up with is every team has a 4th line.

- MJL

again you should reread instead of just trying to argue. i'm the one with a pattern...lmao yeah sure thing.

"This is just like the time I traded back and drafted Cam York over Cole Caulfield and Matt Boldy"

"Yup guys, the app says its a fair trade, wanna take a look?"

"No, I don't think three years is too long to wait for Michkov. Heck, I once waited so long for a Russian in Minnesota that I forgot he was even in our system!"

"OK guys, I'm signing off before the 2nd-round begins. I'll be back for the 3rd."

The Flyers are expected to receive serious interest, as well as some big offers for Travis Konecny over the summer. (per Pierre LeBrun)
- Pelle31Forever

No! Not over the summer! Freakin between now and draft day!

Personally I wouldn’t be all that concerned with moving Hart right now if ever. We have two firsts in this year’s draft and two firsts in next year’s draft. We have Cutter Gauthier and Tyson Foerster in the pipeline. We have Cam York, Owen Tippett, Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost on the roster. I feel good things happening.

Love the positive vibes. I know that some folks think they will be disappointed if the BPA at seven is a winger particularly a playmaker; however, Gauthier is doing back to college to work on becoming a center. Maybe he succeeds and an elite playmaker on his wing is exactly what the Flyers really needed. Lots of moving parts still; hopefully, the rebuilders are thinking ahead.

If you want to have a conversation with me. Knock off the BS like your previous post.
- MJL

Sorry, I was reading the posts in order on my break, but just had the opportunity to get back online. No need to get testy but we did have this conversation during the season due to your daily posts about scrubs, neanderthals, etc. I asked you who would you like to get ND's minutes and you said any younger player from the Phantoms. Who from the Phantoms do you think would benefit from the 8 or so minutes? Tanner L? Olle L? J Cates? You'd be complaining about how bad the archaic dinosaur Torts is misusing them as much as you post about Risto being a 3rd pair d man at best. Be happy. Bust out some tunes and have a beer. Currently listening to Kansas "Song for America" on my turntable. Try to enjoy life aside from bashing people on HB for not having the same opinion as yours.

You're wrong. The below comments made were not about the subject matter, they were about me. He posted about me while not replying directly to me

"I asked him that this past season but he would not provide specific examples"

"MJL will then complain that the Flyers aren't using him properly and archaic Torts the dinosaur doesn't know how to utilize the younger players."

The questions were answered sufficiently in my opinion. If you or anyone else doesn't feel that it was. I don't give a rats ass.

- MJL

Easy there Stone Cold. It is true that you don't reply to hello its me, so I overstepped my boundaries and answered his question for you. For that, I apologize. I should have reached out to you first, since you are the commandant. Again, my apologies.

lmao, which you have. move along. asked for names...none provided.
- Peter Richards

Yep, no names. I don't want the younger Phantoms to be on the Flyers playing limited minutes. We aren't going anywhere for a few years so who cares if ND is getting 4th line minutes. I know early in the season, ND and Zack were getting more icetime, but that subsided as the season went on.

That’s not the issue. The issue is timeline and contracts. You already have a few deals that go like 3 years into future with players already in prime or will be end of prime. Plus coots albatross contract. And sanheim forever contract. You simply can’t have all these deals on the timeline. It severely hampers what you can do with the young guys you speak of.

Good thing we’re trading exerting. Sanheim is just one player. The Flyers are simply gonna have to get creative with Couturier and Farabee, if Farabee can’t live up to his deal.

Farabee is interesting. Young enough to still have a long career ahead of him but contract is only as good as his production. I’d be open to trading him too.

I agree with you on Hart. I think the Flyers are in a good position with him. Whether it’s the fault of the team or not his numbers aren’t that great. They should be able to sign him to something reasonable. All the experts seem to think he’s got the makings of a very good #1 goalie. If you can lock him up for a few years at a reasonable cost; why not?

what makes anyone think hart wants to waste his prime years on a rebuilding team.

Some players have to realize that torts isnt the long term answer and in a few years likely starting from scratch again. To me this a is a big year for TK and Hart in terms do they really want to re-sign here? me i woudn't

He will be an RFA so they have control of him for at least one more season after this. I don't think the arbitration number will be ridiculous. Probably between 5 and 6.
If they want to revisit dealing him at that deadline they can. IMO you don't deal him now unless the offer blows them away.

The Flyers can ask for the moon for Hart and if they don't get what they like, no worries. Sign his arbitration deal at 1 or 2 years then revisit moving him after that deal.

I think DB's #1 focus should be the Konecny deal. With #2 finding some sort of landing place for Hayes and Tony Angelo.

Deal from a position of strength on Konecny. Get that done, then get rid of the deadweight when the pressure isn't so high. Worse that happens is you live through one more year of TA, and you try to move Hayes again next season.

Just my opinion.
