so that Henry Cavill fella didn't quit on the series after all? I thought he was pissed because he didn't agree with how the writers wanted to deviate from the source material, nice to see he decided to keep playing that role, he does a good job at it.

This is his last season, he announced that he was leaving the show shortly after filming for season 3 was wrapped.
Nobody knows for sure why he left. Some say he was unhappy about the direction of the show, others say he thought that filming for the series was too much time consuming for other projects. There is also that Superman gig that he got back and lost in a short period of time.

Personally, I think it's a little bit of all that. I think he was promised some stuff by DC for Superman, hence his cameo in one of their last projects. Then, Warner Bros hired James Gunn, and they told Cavill they wanted to go into a new direction with Superman, with a younger actor. So...he got pretty much screwed.

I didn't liked him as Geralt of Rivia when it was announced he got the part...but I must say, he grew on me. Also the fact that he's a huge fan of the book series and the games is a plus in my opinion. Liam Hemsworth is supposed to replace him, I can't think of a project of his aside from that small role in the Hunger Games series, but I will give him a chance.

If there's a guy that knows about winning in the playoffs, it's him.

it is for sure, and it's probably why people are assuming that he's leaving because he feels the direction the series is taking in season 4 is wrong in regards to the source material. if he himself is a fan then he's well-positioned to anticipate a negative reaction from the fanbase.

I must say...book adaptations are hard to do. I'm halfway through the 5th book and I understand why they can't adapt as is..but they completely went off the rails with that Baba Yaga witch in the forest (Voleth Meir), which is a character that doesn't exist in the books. They also killed off characters that don't die in the books. I think that's what irked people the most.

Their portrayal of Yennefer was also weird. She's weak and pathetic in season 2, that's not how she is in the books. Also, she was willing to offer Ciri as a sacrifice, in the books she is harsh with her during her training but in the end she calls her her daughter.

What gives me hope is that I recognize a lot of stuff from the books in that trailer and in the teaser they released a few weeks ago.

interesting. I am not familiar at all with what is "canon" according to the books but I did enjoy the first season more than the second one, so I'm hoping that they're going back to the same vibe in the third, or to whatever made it more enjoyable.

by the way, not sure if you're a gamer and a fan of the Diablo series but I've been playing Diablo IV and I gotta say it's pretty good. I like it much better than Diablo 3 so far, I find it feels like what a true Diablo game experience is supposed to be.
