I think the canucks trade is closer to something real. I don't know how it evens out or if Miller makes any sense but it feels like the right positions/players might be workable.

Would you do this trade? William Nylander for Tom Wilson and Trevor van Riemsdyk. A veteran right hand defenseman and a right winger with sandpaper and toughness. It would fit the bill if the Leafs could get it done. Nylander could play with his buddy Rasmus Sandin and new head coach, previous assistant coach in Toronto, Spencer Carbary.

Move Marner to the O'Reilly, Tavares line and put Wilson with Matthews and Knies. That would be a formidable top 6. Slot Van Riemsdyk with McCabe. Your two top pairings would be set.
