Are we really arguing that if we had the opportunity to move up to pick Fantilli we shouldn't because he could be Nolan Patrick or Kakko?
- MBFlyerfan

Yes, actually a few are.

Apparently people are scared to trade a top-six winger and an average NHL starter for shot at a near-generational talent.

Plus the 7th overall. It's a no brainer.

lmao, you just described Nolan Patrick
- Peter Richards

You can't think this way. Fantilli is a game changer! He is the next Matthew Tkachuk. You trade the farm for someone like that. To me Fantilli should be wearing orange and black, he just belongs on the Flyers. Fantilli in Anaheim would be such a waste!

Does Briere’s recent experience as player help him complete a tear-down and rebuild the right way? I hope if they are committing ti a rebuild they do it all the way and don’t half-ass it. I guess we will see how much rope Comcast gives him.

While losing Provorov will hurt the team, it was the right move with all the factors involved. It is encouraging and a sign that the team understands what it has to do. Hextall knew what had to be done but needed to be executed better. So having the right plan is only half the battle.

I still believe it would be a huge mistake for the Flyers to trade Hart. However he is their best asset to move this rebuild forward. I would not trade Hart unless I was getting something huge back, for example say Anheim's 2nd overall pick or Columbus' 3rd overall pick. It really has to move the needle forward significantly on the rebuild for me to consider trading Hart.

That's not realistic.

Try to look at it this way. Who is fantilli compared to? Michkov? Which would you rather have?
- SMS4016

Believe it or not, I think I would rather have Fantilli than any other player in this draft class, including Bedard. The way I look at it is Bedard is MacDavid, Fantilli is Tkachuk, and I would rather have Tkachuk and win playoff series.

Yes, you're probably right which is why I would not trade Hart. Anaheim is not close to needing a top end goalie. Columbus on the other hand is given the coach they are hiring and their desire to win now. They might be open to trading that 3rd pick for a top goalie.

What about Tkachuk in the 21/22 playoff season with Calgary when they got knocked out. Tkachuk went scoreless in the last 3 games of the series. Tkachuk is a great player but you don't take him over McDavid.

Connor McDavid had 150+ points this year. You seriously taking Tkachuk over him?

Columbus is unlikely to trade that pick and the Flyers don't have a top goalie to trade them.

YES! What has MacDavid's 150 points per year done for Edmonton? I'll take a player that scores 40 goals, 100 points and will kick the living crap out of you over MacDavid any time. Look at what Tkachuk is doing for Florida right now! Where is MacDavid?

It does not matter where Tkachuk was then, it matters where he is now:

This sounds sort of optimistic. It does seem like DB and company are committed to a rebuild. Let’s see if their commitment lasts past June.

Sure I understand. I just believe you need certain types of players to win playoff series in the NHL, and Tkachuk is that type of player. Fantilli to me is that type of player also or I should say, I believe he will grow into that type of player.

McDavid had 20 points in 12 games in this year's playoffs. Give McDavid a goalie that is playing at Bob's level and he is in the finals as well.

What it shows that you need to learn is that playoff performance can vary from year to year. Put McDavid on Florida or another good team like Carolina. What happens?

the best teams take numerous cracks at it to win the cup, McDavid is no different. Making a decision on one run is not a great way to build a team. Love MT's game but I take McDavid 100 out of 100 times

If he is that good, and he might be….why would the Ducks ever entertain a trade? They are in the same spot as the Flyers, with maybe a few more young pieces already in place. They are rebuilding.
