Some players wish to go to a city to be closer to family.

PLD seems to want to get away from his family.

- bennythehat

I would be curious to see what family dynamics were like for PLD. Seems like he is always running away from something.

What an absolute PUSS!!
Come to think of it, this would be the second team he's quit on (third if you count Cape Breton in the Q)...who the hell would want that?
Actually, he'd make the perfect Hab! fire St.Louis , hire Patrick Roy and put him and Dubois together

- shanerationX

Do you know what are the details about Dubois' issue in Cape Breton?
I've heard about him forcing a trade or something but Idk what happened exactly and can't seem to find anything about it when I've searched online.

I don't think it has anything to do with getting away from his family, I think it has everything to do with getting to another city.

I think Dubois took less money to get out of Columbus and was expecting a trade to Montreal when Chevy stupidly called Jarmo with a better offer, Dubois didn't want to come to Winnipeg and never had any intention to sign long term with the Jets, his one year deal last summer was also with the expectation of a trade.

Now he's expanded his list of places he'd sign long term with cause Montreal doesn't want to pay him more then Suzuki and Dubois wants $8.5-9M, the Habs have also likely lost a bit of interest in PLD themselves after chasing him for a few years.

Just my take on the PLD saga.

Dubois had a wicked rookie season in Cape Breton and lit it up at almost 100 points in like 60games. After he was drafted and sent back here, he was just completely disinterested and just dogged it...under a point per game and no jump at all- should have been a precurser i guess. They traded him to a Quebec based team shortly after Christmas and wouldnt you know it, he caught fire and was the second coming of Mario right out of the gate. Was hoping he would have grown up by now and the Columbus thing was just a one off but I think the guy is just a self absorbed twat.
Really wished things had worked out better for you guys- got a soft spot for the Jets and you guys deserved better

I knew trading for that clown was a terrible idea and a loss from day one.

Thanks for the info on the spoiled brat's Qmjhl tantrum.

Chevy needs to have his best summer ever. I hope he has his cell phone at the lake and didn’t leave it at work!

Hearing a lot about LA Kings….please do NOT get Turcotte as the “big piece” in a trade with the Kings.

If Chevy is working this summer that means he's not having his best summer ever. There is a reason he calls himself Chevelallsummeroff.

In terms of making deals, I sense mass disappointment coming for all of us Jets fans!

I always think that winning the 2016 lottery was the worst thing that ever happened to this franchise. They would have picked 6th that year if not for the win and taken Tkachuk. I remember Lawless on the radio speaking about how much the Jets wanted him prior to winning the lottery. Imagine what Tkachuk would have looked like on this franchise? It might have also created a solid line of Ehlers-Roslovic-Tkachuk. All the picks between 2 and 5 in 2016 were overrated.

No, getting Laine was great but this poorly run organization screwed that up by keeping a bully around, Matthew Tkachuck is a piece of garbage, no thanks.

Their blunder at the 2016 draft was the Stanley deal, imagine if they keep the 22nd overall pick and their early 2nd rounder and hit on those picks, could've changed the trajectory of this sad sack organization, its been downhill since that trade with their roster management.

I have different feelings of the upcoming trades. I feel that we are going to be pleasantly surprised. But, believe we'll soon see. Anyways, get some young blood in there and make for more exciting 23/24, win or lose.

Would think that PLD will be dealt before/during the draft. I believe the Jets want that second draft in first round - or to move up in draft.

Hellebuyck, Scheifele and whoever else, may be dealt after July 1 when they can
"sign, extend and trade" them. Perhaps get better return.

One thing that bothers me - I just don't see coach "Bones" returning as coach despite what they say - too many differences of opinions at year end. Even though I liked "Bones" and believe what he said to be true, maybe need a change to soothe the locker room?

I expect that Bowness will resign due to family or health reasons in order to save grace.

Quotes are not working. If Jets 2.0 is interested in bring back anyone from version 1.0, it should be John Paddock. I thought he did a great job as GM of 1.0 and would love to see him get the opportunity to be part of this franchise again.

I would also love it if this franchise went back into its Thrashers roots and get Rick Dudley to be our GM. If not him then Erik Tulsky from Carolina for sure.

Paul Maurice will remain Paul Maurice. Florida like Winnipeg and Carolina got there one great high with Uncle Paul. He’s like Crystal Meth, you get one great high expecting the same high again and for some reason or another its never the same again…..

Quotes not working but wouldn't Chipman have had an opportunity at Mcrimmon as GM back in 2011?

It would have never worked as Chipman seems to want to run the show and Chevy is just a spokesperson with a title of GM. Look at the moves the "first term NHL GM" Mcrimmon made to get VGK where they are. That's called GM'ing........

And I disagree with 2.0 which I rarely do as I enjoy his posts but asset mgmt is not this clubs forte.

Hopefully someone there can prove me wrong this summer and make some good asset moves with all the players that are supposedly exiting....... I have my doubts tho....

i never said it was a forte, just that it is the reality of every club in the league to lose players to waivers, FA etc. Furthermore Wpg is a tough market to retain talent in due to taxes, glamour, endorsement opportunity and climate. Todays Jets have more talent than what was inherited from Atlanta and that doesn't happen by poor asset management.

Eerily quiet on the Jets front right now!

Wonder when the first bomb (PLD) will fall? Expect it soon, well before the draft anyways! Besides "optimistic", call me "impatient"! lol

I just hope that we don't get Pionk'd in whatever deal comes. With Chevy we could be waiting the entire summer before something happens.

the good news is that Brisson might be handling this trade for us which I like!! he negotiated the Eichel and Seth Jones trades

Paddock did not make that trade. It was Bobby Smith. The Jets were already sold to Phoenix. The Coyotes did not want to pay all three of Zhamnov, Tkachuk and Selanne. Selanne at the time was considered damaged goods due to his Achilles injury and as such the Arizona group instructed Paddock to make that trade. Paddock was a great GM!

I think we are going to be very disappointed in the moves that happen this summer. If there were going to be moves for those top 3 55,37 & 80 I for sure thought would've been moved by now. Teams knew they were available and should've been a line up for all of them yet nothing.
I have lost all faith in Chevy and his unwillingness to move players and this season we are going to lose them all for nothing. This year the fan base gets extremely upset with the owners & GM.
