What did Ottawa pay to get DeBrincat from Chicago?

Now he wants 9m+ a year....and he had a down year, 27 I believe, and you want more?

To quote a user who should delete their account "Efff outta here."

Dorion did pay a high price to AD - I'll give you that. But to suggest a 25 year old who has scored 40 goals is worth a 1st + 2nd (from any team) is ridiculous. The pick has to be in the top 10 or if it's a top 15-20 has to include much more.

Also he heading towards 1 year 9M but could receive a 8-8.5M year contract with signing bonuses and front loaded. On the right team, he will a great addition. He had a horrible year. HORRIBLE - still scored 27 goals 66 points

Adams signed Okposo. No need to look at anyone else. The guy is the leader and needs no help. Unless of course it's Okposo Ottawa wants.

When does all the insanity of spending money and Mo Money STOP. You never get what you pay for. It is a pipedream In a team sport the spending money just has to stop The fans foot the bill with way too high ticket prices.. If you spend 10 mill on a player is he going to double his production from when he was making 5 mill. Most of the time the player hit the jackpot and the fans are disappointed with a bad contract and little production to show for the investment. These long term contracts are just a horrible endeavor. A contract should be no longer than 2 years Make them show they are worth it. But as a GM it is easy to spend other peoples money. Makes no sense and I am talking all pro team sports.

DeBrincat would be a better fit on teams looking for strong individual performance rather than regular season wins and playoff success.

I think the Sens made the decision to move on before the season ended and they are just trying to keep value in the asset by saying the right things.

No doubt in my mind that the Sens are better served by size and grit if they want to be a serious playoff contender.

DeBrincat is a good fit for multiple teams. Not sure he is the kind of player that helps you go deep in playoffs. He is the kind of player that might fit and thrive playing for the Leafs.

Would he agree to a deal that sends him to the Coyotes?

Remember, locker room clean out day, Garrioch wrote that DeBrincat would not be returning. Garrioch has never written anything that has not been preapproved by the Sens front office.

Do the math. If the Sens give DeBrincat a $9m deal and offer Pinto a comparable contract to Batherson it puts them at in the $84m range and fully capped out.

They need the money for Sanderson and Chychrun and it would be irresponsible to make Jeff Skinner your top paid player.

Caps on income growth, restrictions on personal incentives, and the people own the revenues. You're a communist. Always knew it.

There is another issue and it has already begun to emerge in the NHL. As costs and revenues continue to accelerate, the dependence on gambling related revenues will only increase. Already very unhappy with the promotional attention being given to gambling by the NHL. Gambling will always corrupt your product no matter what the owners may claim.

How many microbreweries have opened in a 50 mile radius of where you live? Those used to be called "bars" and frowned upon. Now? Breweries open with playgrounds for children. Not a pearl clutcher, to each their own, but once thought of unseemly interests such as gambling are being repackaged as acceptable as the North American economy runs out of steam.

Both of these floated on Sens page. Thoughts?

To STL:
Alex DeBrincat
Alex Forminton
Anton Forsberg

To OTT:
Jake Neighbors
Tyler Pitlick
Jordan Binnington a million a year retained (if he agrees to waive his NMC)

And:

PHILLY: Hart and koneckny
OTT: Debrincat (signed)

Kings might have interest but with all the people they have to sign they are not in on Debrincat in the slightest. I mean I know this is a rumor site but come on man this is clickbait at it's finest. I'd much rather them kick the tires on a guy like Tom Wilson as they were pushed around by the Oilers that last 2 seasons.
