Yes we have. Just need to know if he's the Rask or the Raycroft in this story?
- The Law

I was talking about Bobrovsky but I'm not one to prevent bringing up the Rask trade.

well Philly was worse than TO and half this place wants to nuke the Leafs
- drexel

For sure. I meant more-so the timing of it. If they did this months ago, they might've gotten Bedard.

I think this is pathetic

give it rest

I am just telling you that you are being a Marwood and obsessive because it is true

Maybe hearing it will help you realize so you can just stop responding to my posts, I never respond to yours unless you respond to me. Just give it a rest and find something better to do with your time then to constantly obsess over my posts. Its creepy and tiresome

- Santo_44

that sounds like some good advise.
you should take it. eh.

The numbers are trash, I guess.

Anyone with eyes can see that Karlsson is a literal turnstile that is a detriment to his team in the defensive end.

As bad as Rielly can be, he's not in the same universe as Karlsson defensively.

- GreatGigInTheSky

Watch him when he's healthy and not with your "He stinks of Senator" goggles on.

This year past his ankle was as good as it's been in years. He's not stripping pucks off of a lot of guys (although he was 3rd among all defensemen in takeaways behind only Fox and Slavin; he was also 1st in giveaways which happens when you have the puck a lot but are also sloppy with it). BTW, in Rates/60: Karlsson was 6th in Giveaways, Rielly was 8th. In takeaways / 60, Karlsson was 4th; Rielly was 120th out of 183 qualified (minimum 800 minutes, all situations). In hits, these two power machines were 115th (Rielly) and 177th (Karlsson) out of 183.

You aren't going to find many stats or game clips that prove that this season past Karlsson wasn't as good or better than Rielly at every metric. That's just a fact. He has always been a vastly superior hockey player. I don't know why it has be justified.

In February when we all hate Rielly again, we can rehash these conversations!

I never respond to his posts unless he does it to me.

Its always an insult for a post completely unrelated to him, hence the gross obsession he has. So I will point it out.

- Santo_44

You're a Richard...a whining, baby Richard. Always (frank)ing yapping in here about some "poor little me" BS while continually insulting or bashing others.

Just STFU and post about hockey FOR.ONE.(frank)ING DAY. you delicate little flower.

To be fair the Flyers had to trade Bob the minute Bryzgalov became the coolest guy on earth.

Offensively Karlsson is better but that’s it.

Defensively Rielly isn’t a stud but he’s still notably better than Karlsson

Physically Rielly is waaaaaaaay better (and yes he is physical, google it up and there’s tons of videos of being so)

Cost wise Rielly is 33% better

So Rielly wins 3 of 4 notable items when compared and the one thing Karlsson has him beat on is the one thing the leafs don’t need.

- Dozzer

It's cool. We're not agreeing on this. We can pin it here. Rielly is cheaper. I am not bending on the notion that Rielly is physical. I've seen him throw a few hits that are nice - like you, I also watch all the games I can. As I said, there are just no stats which show Rielly is superior defensively, either. More hits doesn't make him better - we also know this. So that's why I just can't even meet part way on this. I will give this completely: Cost / Production: I'll take Rielly when he's healthy over Karlsson when he's healthy, but a healthy EK tilts the ice like a McDavid on the blueline. Surround THAT guy with Marner, Matthews, Nylander and Tavares?

Anyway, I'll leave the closing argument to you.

Karlsson wasn't even on for a goal against!

I'm not the only one here who remembers the rest of the year, right? Does 12 playoff games make you forget about the other 65 games he played? Or how good the team in the 17 games that he was injured?

Anyway, my point here isn't that the trade should occur because it won't.

My point is simply that Karlsson is vastly superior to Rielly at what they both do.

- Monkeypunk

I’m not arguing about who’s the better player. I do think that it’s easy to undervalue Rielly.

Except he doesn't... he costs his teams again and again more than he brings. It isn't just about being crap on the Sens, if he was so good SJ wouldn't stink to high heaven with him and be willing to move him at all.

Moot point anyways here. EK throwin poop out there, and everyone seems to forget Dubas was wanting to get him and deal fell through/was kiboshed. I really doubt they come back now that Dubas left for more control to go ya know what yeah lets do that.

Agreed though depends on which Reilly bothers to show up. The regular season one injury or not wasn't great past couple seasons. I mean Virtue blaming was rampant
