Dom Luszxkywvsqtnzxyzsnz already told everyone, and proved it to the world through the athletic with his analytic models (and we also learned through the eye-test) that Gavrikov was the worst available player before he was traded to the Kings this year. It was such an eye-opening expose that some people believe it soured the Boston & Columbus impending trade deal that suddenly fell through.

Gavrikov proved he wasn’t amazing in the playoffs for the Kings either and actually was a liability. Provorov is a better player and the Jackets are getting him at a big discount which fills a massive need. That’s a win-win.

I wouldn't be comfortable taking a team that's supposed to be figuring out how to legitimately be a contender and giving the reins to a kid with 13 NHL starts. He's looked good in this small audition, but you need a real NHL starter to work with him and let him work his way into being the guy.

I love Woll and what he can hopefully be as much as the next guy, but I agree. I think at least a year of Woll getting split duties would be optimal.

If they don't upgrade the goaltending in the off-season, I guess you go in hoping for a Sammy-Woll combo and Woll steals the job, making Sammy someone we can move for assets/picks in the next offseason.
