Posted this earlier, it's the most in depth info I could find:

Is it me or does this guy seem like another Phil Myers? Seems like he possesses similar skills and size. Let's hope he turns out to be a much better player between the ears.

thanks. if ginning continues to improve we could have a good sized swedish duo. or maybe when emil comes over. Has he ever played with emil or is he just a little too old?
- Peter Richards

He played with Emil several times in IIHF tourneys: U17, U18 and U20. Not sure if they were ever paired together, maybe Bill knows.

I'm really not that excited about trading Hart like so many others, but if it's a "gotta take it" trade then I am fine with it. A 2nd or below pick then just hold on to Hart.

Now next up...Hayes and Deangelo.

- Glak18

DeAngelo will not be traded until the deadline. With Hayes, I'm not sure the Flyers will be able to dump him. They are already covering one salary and are only allowed one more, so its 50/50 IMO at this point. But the Flyers do need to move Hayes.

Robert Hagg is probably a closer comparable.

Anyone have any insight into this Grans kid we got from LA? A high second round pick from 2020…that’s all I got on him.
- Sublime55

6'3", 205 lbs, He'll walk the offensive blue line with the puck on his stick with relative ease; and he can mitigate risk while maintaining an aggressive, space-consuming posture when defending the defensive blue line. He skates well, has a long reach, an active stick, and good habits with his footwork. -EliteProspects 2020 NHL Draft Guide

It was a great return, 2023 1st, two 2nd round picks in 2024, plus a 2020 high 2nd round pick Helge Grans who has good upside. Not sure what else we could have hoped for. Peterson can be a good backup to Hart, which allows Ersson more time to develop in the AHL. If anyone thought Danny would be taken advantage of, you are sadly mistaken. Also, if anyone thought the Flyers were not serious about rebuilding, you are also sadly mistaken.
- jd250

Weaponizing cap space AND moving an overrated guy for strong returns. A very encouraging opening trade for sure.

Harkens back to the kind of trades Homer made at the beginning cleaning up Clarke's mess, and some of the stuff Hexy did in the beginning to clean up Homer's mess.

Let's just hope that Danny can keep this rolling and we'll see if he learned from his predecessors' mistakes.

Well, I'm seeing lots of rumors that the Flyers are shopping Hart. I think this would be a horrible decision if they do this. Unless Hart has told the Flyers he will not resign here, he is the type of player you rebuild around; from the goalie out!

How in any world is he the type of player you rebuild around? He’s an average goalie, he’s 100% expendable and should be moved if the price is right

I hope they trade everybody that has value and commit to starting over from scratch.

Nobody on the team is worth building around, IMO.

Jesus dude…

Hextall got rid of the Pronger dead cap hit. He also got rid of Vinny and Luke Schenn together. Hextall’s specialty was creating cap space. The Brayden Schenn trade got us two first’s.

- SuperSchennBros

People giving accolades to Saint Ronnie for the Pronger and Vinny trades is funny to me.

Every team uses Arizona as a dumping ground. Not like this was some innovative revelation. The Vinny trade doesn’t happened unless Vinny makes it happen. He waived his NTC then agreed to retire at the end of the season. Otherwise that trade doesn’t go down. He could have easily told the flyers to pound sand and he will collect every dollar owed from the press box. That trade was all Vinny not Ronald.

Ronald had no specialty.

Does one trade of someone who requested out signal a rebuild? More needs to shown. Ersson needs to now develop in the NHL as he will be 24 in a few months.

Peterson played 10 games last season in the NHL with horrible results. You hope he may be able to revive his career. Not a guarantee.

Looks like the Danny felating will be flowing much like your chuck felating.

what salary are they covering now? Hayes will not be back unless they do a complete 180. They will buy him out if not trade.

Taking another look at the trade this morning and very happy with the return for Philly. What I don’t understand is what the hell LA thinks they got out of making this deal. Seems like they should’ve gotten a pick out of somebody.

Hart is not just an average goaltender, that doesn't mean I am calling him elite either. There's a reason people say goaltenders are cursed on the Flyers.

Remember how bad Mrázek and Talbot looked on the Flyers? How did they do once they moved to their next team?

Then there's Bob, yeah yeah we have rehashed the story many times and Snider made a mistake and different story here, but if Hart is moved I truly believe he will succeed on another team. So if he needs to move to another team to become not average anymore then it's probably the team and not Hart that is the problem.

bingo, at least the losing core that has been here a while. Listen on any of the "young" guys and move the rest. Sometimes better to move on despite what the return may be.

Doesn't matter if he succeeds on another team. That cant be part of the logic when/if you move him.

The simple question is do you want to sign Hart for 8 years and say 6 million per?

From what I am reading they really wanted to get out from under Petersens albatross contract and free up cap space to sign guys they acquired at the deadline last year.

They got cap space to sign Garikov and will probably look to make another move for a tender.

The Provorov deal signals Hart is gone to me. There would be no reason not to try and sell high on him now then have him get shelled possibly on a rebuilding team.

I see Hart, Hayes and possibly Konecny all getting moved. Can they get another 1st this year? I could see them trying to get a 2nd in this year's draft still.

I agree.

Also as you alluded to in a previous post, what will Danny do with the cap space once the Flyers have some banked? Will they be patient and stick to their guns? Or try to wheel and deal a shortcut?

Carter Hart being closer to a Steve Mason isn’t a bad thing. I really liked Mason when he was here.

The problem becomes Carter’s prospective contract extension. It’s a no brainer to move him.

Again I don't have any problem trading anyone on the team, but they have to get something that helps the team in return. Trading Hart for the sake of trading him is bad management because he can be useful ON the team.

When the time comes and the Flyers need a goaltender it's not that easy to just go get one. Teams probably draft 1-3 goaltenders every draft and most of them don't become anything. The "Just draft an elite goaltender when you need one" argument is foolish because every team would do it then. I know many people like the exceptions, but prime of goaltenders is not mid-20's.
