Compared to President Dubas. Who will have the last say on everything involving the Pens.

Missed almost an entire season with a knee injury... will fit right in.
- Tomahawk

An iron man for a not so much…but hey, Travis Sanheim can finally be our number one defenseman and Cam York can finally play the left side. Finally all is right in Flyerdom.

Not much worse? It's way worse. The Bryzgalov buyout was a compliance buyout.
- MJL

ah ok, I forgot that. But how about say, 35% instead of 50%?

And if Couturier is indeed fully cleared, someone would get a almost a ppg player with injury downside risk but at only 5 m.

Anyway, enough about him. I am hoping to see a Hart deal soon. I am hoping that this Provy deal is not because of personal reasons, and is indicative of a new approach (but until more happens, the former cannot be ruled out).

So far in the Torts-Danny-Jones 'triumvirate' we have seen:

1. Danny persuade Torts to play Frost
2. Danny persuading Torts to leave bench for last many games of season
3. Danny trading away a Torts type player, one who he has play heavy mins.
4. ALl this while Jonesy is chuckling live on camera far away.

So, it could be a triumvirate, but someone seems to be uber alles.

- PT21

Do you really think Jonesy was not kept in the loop?

A rough day just got rougher when you discovered that tough guy Ivan has played exactly ONE more NHL game than that wimp Sanheim in the past five seasons.

Provorov might not like Pride night, but I'm sure he'd let a super fan like you gargle his nuts if you asked nicely enough.

- Feanor

why do you think it has been a rough day? would really like for you to elaborate on that

Sanheim rules. Tells us some more. Any heat charts to show how he is a top pairing dman?

omg

But is torts the right guy for this project? He feels so simpleton and Flintstone, compared to guys like Maurice and Cassidy.

Wow, the condition on the CBJ second rounder is, they have to let the Flyers know immediately following the 2024 first round which one they are sending. That's a new one

As opposed to the last three seasons where the Flyers were ranked 26th overall while blowing a bunch of picks trying to make the playoffs?

It would be ridiculously unprofessional to not keep him in the loop.

But there is a difference between keeping someone informed and letting that someone have a critical say ...evidence seems to point to the former.

To be fair Torts seemed to have real reservations about Provy.

A real act of dominance would be trading Laughts or Cates. Or forcing Torts to kiss and make up with Hayes lol.

Is there a chance this cal Petersen could be the starter or is he 100% a backup
- ClaudeFather

Well. I’d say he or ersson are the starter but the plan is probably to absolutely bottom out. Too and it wasn’t this year.

cleans up contracts that allows you to maybe now sign a college or undrafted free agent that has upside. Unlike those 2.
- hello it's me 2050

Or take a contract with money to get more picks or prospect? They can help facilitate a trade for someone.

Hold on, my man. This condition favors the Flyers in as much as it is an imposition on CBJ to have to do the informing.

So, at the minimum, this means Flyers have at least thought ahead to _something_ in the 2nd round of the next draft. It likely means more time to do trades, change draft strategy, trade strategy.

But dang it, at least they are thinking ahead!

clearing the 2 AHL deals was a very shrewd move as well. Danny did well.

What does LA get out of this? Two ahl contracts and 30 percent cap hit?

Seems small and pointless, but it was shrewd.
- Glak18

This is the poop fletcher would never think of but Danny clearing 2 pointless contract slots is definitely shrewd to keep yourself flexible for taking more bad contracts/dumps

- Peter Richards

If you think it's worrisome because you don't think Sanheim/York can handle it, you do realize the Flyers are soft tanking, right? This is a trade of a team that are not trying to be competitive or make the playoffs for the next two years at least.

Sarcasm on my part. I don’t know what the ceiling is of Helge Grans but Sean Walker is gonna play and he’s frankly not enough to replace an Ivan Provorov. I don’t think Sanheim or York are enough either.

They needed cap space to sign Gavrikov. Also clears a spot for one of their many RHD prospects

Not gonna lie, the last hockey player I’d have ever predicted would be involved a three-way with two other dudes is Ivan Provorov

If you think we were bad defensively the past to season, Sean Walker is probably going to put things in perspective.
