Getting that extra first is huge. If Michkov is there at 7 then you can take the risks now that you have another 1st rounder and two 2nds. |

Oh this changes the draft A LOT
Although I would like to see the Flyers select Benson if he is there now more. |

Even if he continues to stink here, he could be bought out next year. Haven't run the numbers on cap friendly yet but I'm sure it'll be palatable, especially if the cap goes up again. - TobyFlenderson
The cap goes up and the Flyers won’t really need to spend because they simply aren’t going to be very good. Sure they can resign some of their youth but I haven’t seen anyone that will break the bank or should. Taking on some bad contracts and getting assets in return can only help. |

He'll be the starter. Maybe he finds his game. |

To CBJ: Provorov
LA retains 30% of Provorov's salary
PHI: 1st (LA from CBJ), 2nd (CBJ), 2nd (LA), Helge Grans (RHD), Sean Walker, (RHD) and Petersen (G) - HenryHockey
is this just speculation or is this true? Can't find confirmation anywhere

Neither is a 10 million 3rd pair or a 7m 3C, but gotta pick your battles.

He showed promise 2 years ago. I have no idea what happened this season, maybe pressure to live up to the new contract got to him.

He's not overly physical and isn't going to score 20 goals from the blueline so the fans will hate him.

Plus, Walker can be dealt at the deadline (50%) retained. Flyers didn't have to retain any money on Provorov so that's another win that he doesn't count for that slot. Petersen can be bought out this year or next.
All for selling high on both TK and Hart. Add Laughton to that list as well. Don't think they can move Couturier but I also did not expect this return for Provorov and a bad contract in Petersen.
Wonder if this accelerates a DeAngelo trade or buy out - TobyFlenderson
I was thinking about the Couturier situation. And I would agree with you chances are low. But I think there is a window for boldness.
3.8m retained for 8 years is big, but not much worse than the Ilya buyout. And the NMC lapses if he agrees to be traded, and he might if he is clearly told Flyers don't expect to sniff the playoffs next few years.
As for who those teams might be, Bergeron has a herniated disk and is always on the verge of retirment. Ditto Krejci. Marchand is 35. Sometimes teams with a dwindling cup window do desperate things.

No biggie. Provorov is that kid who hit puberty in the 7th grade but peaked in 10th. I wish him all the best. Dude was always available. |

The return on Provy looks very good so far. Peterson cleared waivers in December and he only played 10 games last season. That doesn't sound like a starter to me. I wouldn't trade Hart just yet. |

Yes those 2nd rnd picks are 2024 picks…not for this year. Hayden Hodgson gone to LA as well. |

why would he have to be told? he cant be that stupid to think otherwise.
No one is taking that deal with 50% retained until he shows he is heathy. |
