It won't happen, but what would be a fair return for Fox? He's obviously a huge talent, but I just don't see him being a guy who can lead NYR to a Cup. He could bring a huge return.. Just thinking outside the box. Don't shiiiit on me too much for asking

when Vegas missed the playoffs last season, the Pieterangelo deal was looking frightening

things change quickly in this league

Yes they do, but majority of Stanley Cup winners have a stout D corp who can skate. Just think Fox...and Panarin help get NYR in playoffs, but don't help them win the Cup...if that makes any sense. This NYR team as it's constructed isn't winning anything, so might as well make a splash. Fox being traded for a few pieces who can skate, play two game, etc. isn't worst idea in the world.

one aspect to possibly trading Panarin, he is due a 10 million signing bonus on July 1st

.....with only a 1 million dollar salary next season

in fact, if a team were to trade for Panarin after July 1st, they would only have to give him 19 million in cash total for 3 seasons of hockey

- jimbro83

You know Panarin isnt going to waive, I think a good coach can get more from Panarin in the playoffs.

I think if they traded Fox it would make the reaction from the fanbase to Eddie Giacomin leaving look like baby stuff

But, your whole idea is based on the premise that Fox isn't good at defense, which is wrong.

the only thing that in my mind keeps Panarin possibly being moved alive is that Drury wasn't happy with him after last year's playoffs

but yeah, absolutely, it's hard to really imagine it being pulled off

I never said he isn't good on defense...Just brought it up because I think maybe the pieces(return) NYR received in a trade might make NYR better as a whole than having Fox.

Fox isn’t the problem. The issue besides the first pair that all the other defenseman are bottom pair caliber currently. We have no big fast defenseman that can make an outlet pass. Miller has some tools but still a bit away

Seeing if the mock draft can be resurrected. Have DM out to several individuals. About a third of the draft is covered. If the others respond, almost first half plus others will be spoken for and can try and back fill the rest.
