After the second game of the Devils series it seemed like Gallant said,"(frank) it, if this is what you give me then I don't care."

You're missing the point a little, I think. There are people who are just driven to achieve goals. That doesn't mean they have to be the driving force at all times. Or that they have to place 1st in every race.
Drury may not have been at the pinnacle of his hockey career in Colorado, but he was a solid, dependable player that did the things they needed to win games and won the Calder there. He was a leader and solid on-ice example for teammates in Buffalo. We won in baseball as a kid. He won a Hobey Baker as well as an NCAA championship.
My point is that some people know what effort level it takes to succeed and some don't. I don't think things would be the worst we've ever seen if he was given one season of complete control. Nor would they be unrecoverable.

And if Chris Drury had shown hat attitude here when he was player, I wouldn't question him. But he kind of said the exact opposite in the infamous quote. And as the GM he puts out fires he starts. Hence why I dislike him.

I mean as a Ranger fan, I want nothing to do with Hynes. Guy stinks. He's actual loser. Don't me that a slur. Like factually as an NHL coach, he's lost more than he's won.

But as a Chris Drury hater? Make my day and hire this guy. Please.

Larry Brooks said that Drury is in Buffalo at scouting combines, there is really no point in refreshing anything to see if a coach has been hired, it's not happening any time soon
- jimbro83

Nothing happening until Sheldon Keefe is hired or ruled out....

Not saying I liked what he said, or that it was anything other than a bad look for him. But, if one quote is all it takes to disqualify someone from ever being worthy of consideration as a competent or capable hockey executive we will never have someone to believe in. Cancel culture, NHL edition!

I'm not canceling him at all. Let him go work elsewhere in the NHL. I just don't want him around the Rangers. Because I believe he's 1.) bad at his job. 2.) He only cares about Chris Drury. Thought me and you could talk about this rational.

Guess not.

We're not??? There was no anger in my statements. Apologies if it read otherwise.
I'm just one for second chances. I feel like overall Drury has moved the club in the right direction. Maybe some steps back or laterally, but still generally within striking distance of achieving success.

You just said I wanted the guy canceled. I don't. I just don't want him involved with the Rangers. I want Joel Quenneville banned from the league or as you call it "canceled." Difference? I believe that Chris Drury is arrogant and doesn't care about the success of the Rangers. I know Joel Quennville is the a bad person. That's the difference.

I suppose there's a distinction there I wasn't making. I just took your statements as saying he's not worthy of a GM job, period. I disagree. I don't see him as untouchable or without blame. But, he took over mid-rebuild with obvious pressure from the owner. He's been given the direction to make poop happen sooner rather than later. You can't work under those parameters and not get some things wrong. As long as he's willing to reconsider and revise his approach if things go sideways, I've got few issues with taking swings. Never gonna hit or miss them all. I just can't take someone pressing forward with blinders on trying the same thing again and again.

We may not see a HC until after the draft. Drury will draft who he wants, sign who he wants and then bring in a coach and say “here, make it work”.

I hope the “reports” are bs and we actually do want Roy. Reverse psychology.

However Roy is not someone you can control.

Hey, Drury has been a winner at every level of his career/life. I can think of worst things than giving him a shot at having control.
