its 20% of the season he missed. plus just about 50%.

You think he is going to get to 80 points?

- Gramps28

Who knows? Maybe he will.

I'm willing to bet he scores more than 30 per season and becomes the first to score 40 in 30 years in Montreal.

100% agree. I actually think he will hit 50 goals once or twice in his career. Best natural goal scorer since Turgeon by a mile.

he was probably thinking about it for awhile, but I would bet the loss of his good friend Michel Côté a week ago at 72 sealed the deal.

It should have been the other way around!!! I wish that Trembley wiener would have died the day after Patrick Roy was shipped out of town for scraps and he got to keep his job!!

If he dies, he dies….

a 45 point guy gets almost 8M a year?

Yikes

- Gramps28

Well… I prefer to pay that money for a kid who has the potential to score 50 than paying $6M to a grinder that is always broken…

Let him score 30 first.

So far he has been broken in the 2 seasons he played.

67 games out of 82 is not broken, but whatever float your boat mister grumpy old man

this has been more of a team problem than anything

other than suzuki last season, their main players all went down

he nearly scored 30 playing half a season, so thats pretty good

Was worried he might Mitch Marner us...

This is a good deal.

For the player and the team.

- Mashadar

In fairness to Marner he was coming off a 94 point season.

He has a world class shot. It always amazes me when a small guy like that can shoot the puck so hard.

I guess you have to sign them before they get those kind of numbers

Once they brought Tavares in, everybody wanted to go to the bank

If your players have a breakout year just before their entry level contracts expire you’re screwed. What would Suzuki have gotten if he was coming off a 94 point season? Unfortunately Canadian teams don’t get any favours from the players, unless they’re over 35 and want to come home.

I don't think its a US vs Canada thing if you look at the deals they are getting down there

at the end of the day, top players will ask for top money
