No opinions yet. He did some good, he did some goof in Calgary. We'll have to wait and see. He's made some pretty big swing trades of big name players for big name players, so that sort of leans towards a major shake up...but the only interview he's given seems to say he wants to keep the core and tinker the defense (aka Brodie is gone). |

you mean, personally? because judging from the leafs thread there seems to be a lot of concern... I guess I'd be a bit worried too considering he's the guy that traded Tkachuk, not that this means the same thing would happen with Matthews or anything.
so he wants to keep the core, as in he isn't trading any of the "fab 4"..? |

Fab 5. But the Tkachuk thing isn't as bad as people put it out to be. Huberdeau isn't a 60 point player unless he truly left his hockey in Florida. Tkachuk wanted out and he got a guy who set the record for assists by a LW in NHL history and a top-4 defender. I mean...what else could he do? It's the coaching carousel that worries me. The Flames' coaches have been a dumpster fire one after the other since he got there. Sutter was the best one and he lasted a year |

well he may not be an "untouchable" but I doubt he'd be the one to go if they're to trade any of the top guys, if anything they'd want to get stronger on defense imho, not the opposite.

I don't think they can trade Mathews either unless they get another pretty good centre back. Tavares and OReilly need a number one C to play above them. They may not get Oreilly back anyway, but still.
Making trades is nice and everything, but Kadri was a big part of that Colorado cup team the season before. Look at Colorado this season with no Kadri: out in the first round. They did not replace him.
If they screw up a Marner or Nylander trade, that could be a huge step back and a step in the wrong direction. |

yeah but COL had some important injuries to deal with, it had nothing to do with Kadri not being there imo.

you are both right, they did not replace Kadri and they really need a 2nd line center. Plus they had a few injuries, more importantly Landeskog, their captain. |

lol, ok
yeah they had injuries, but comon. He was great for them in that run when they got the cup. colorado missed their depth and he was the main piece missing from that depth with Landeskog being injuried. |

I still don't find it's the main reason they lost dude, I accept that you have a different opinion, just do the same.
