Calgary had a 111 point season the year before, I like how you just gloss over all the good things Treliving did.. Getting Markstrom, Toffoli, Coleman, drafted really well in Calgary with guys like Mangiapane and Andersson..



You went from hating Dubas to becoming a Dubas supporter in the span of a day.

If the Leafs can't hire a defensive expert head coach and can't fix the blueline, their best option really is Hellebuyck.

Just seems to be an odd number of players that refused to play under Treliving's watch.

Not for nothing but it's also Calgary. Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg have a hard time attracting and keeping talent.

Just so it's clear - I'll defend Treliving on some of his deals, but I'm far from sold on the guy. His UFA signings have been abysmal - maybe that's because of the above; we'll see.

The Leafs right side is so weak, if they sign Mayfield, he absolutely must play on the right side and probably next to Rielly so he can play offensively.

Brodie and McCabe have to get moved and replaced by Gavrikov and Mayfield.

I'd like to add Dumoulin and keep Schenn too. Solid, dependable guys who have proven to play well in the playoffs and know what it takes to win multiple Cups.

I didn't even touch the signings earlier but your list there shows his propensity to sign players over 30 to huge deals. That's a very Leafy thing to do and it rarely ends well.

They absolutely don't and are definite upgrades over Brodie and McCabe.

You have a love affair with Liljegren but he really isn't that good. Was rather over-matched in the playoffs. He's still a soft bottom pairing D.
