Interesting idea, wonder if spezza is ready

You would almost have to say he is not. I mean, experience has to count for something, and he has none. He really seems to have matured and become a hell of a teammate, but the two jobs are not exactly linked.

Assuming this is accurate, this only further cements the idea that the only way Hynes gets the job is out of cronyism and cronyism alone. This team is not built in any way shape or form to be a “sit back and wait” kind of team. Drury is his bestie

I cannot wait for this to happen.

At least you know that if he's paying for a blue checkmark he's probably desperate for credibility...which means he has none

Idk. his credentials according to his bio are not negligible. It’shis actual career as opposed to the Randos who post their vibes.

But generally speaking blue checks are clowns at best.

Meh, that's not the kind of credentials that lead me to believe he has any real insider connections. I could be wrong I guess, just don't really seem like the type to me

If the Rangers dont make the playoffs next year, what do you think the likelihood that Drury AND Hynes (if hired) are fired.

First off I’m highly confident hynes is not going to get this. Maybe drury gets him an assistant position, who knows.

Second off, drury’s fate is inextricably tied to this hire

Being forced to start a goalie 60+ games seems like a bad idea.

Lundkquist played over 60 games in almost every season he played... 5 consecutive seasons with 70 games. Since when is it a bad idea for a goalie to play 60-70 games per year? THey get off for 1 game during back to backs, and another game off when they play 3 games in 4 nights. Why do they need more off then that? Most important player on the team. Shesty BETTER get 65+ games played. He played 53 and 58 the last two seasons. I don't think his legs will fall off playing 65 games.

And the Rangers never won being forced to start him that many times. Name the last goalie to start 60+ Regular season games off the top of you head. I've looked and..

Kuemper: 57
Vasilevksy: 42*
Vasilevksy": 52*
Binnington: 30
Holtby: 54
Murray: 47
Murray: 13
Crawford: 57
Quick: 49
Crawford: 28*
Quick: 69.

* Shortened season. The answer is Quick 11 years ago. Starting a goalie 60 + games is no longer the model.

Im confident that this year was a learning season for the Rangers, like it was with the Tampa when they got swept by the Jackets. The following year they won the Cup, sometimes you need to go backwards before you can really take a step forward.

Well the model is flawed. Play your best players , Professional goaltenders can handle playing 2/3 games per week.

Seriously. Broduer, Richter, Hank...on and on, and on. All played 60+ games every season and did it while playing their best in playoffs. It has nothing to do w/ goalies showing ill effects in playoffs...Its simply a way to hopefully extend their careers, which I get, from a $/investment standpoint, but its not helping a goalies performance in playoffs

Last time Broduer started 60 + games and the devils won: 2003. 20 years ago. Richter: 1994. Lundqvist never.

Again, the model has changed. But go off.
