not sure why they would send him to Laval if they didn't last year. he'll stay imo. you need to be patient Pat, prospects don't all turn out to be top6 players right away. Slaf may need a few years.

I find this ironic since you're very quick to put him way down on the depth chart, without really giving him a chance, but ok...

that does sound like a very interesting combination, although I'm not sure who would be playing with Suzuki and Caufield...

Main reason I think a one year deal with Monahan could work, they lack top 6 talent up front.

Otherwise they could use RHP or one of their up coming prospects over there.

I dont expect the better UFAS to sign here this summer, but Im pretty sure Hughes will try to make a trade if a deal makes sense for the Habs.

The UFA crop this year isn't very interesting anyway as far as top talent goes.

Our boy Tatar had a decent season in New Jersey this year.... but once again sucked in the playoffs with 1 goal in 12 games.

yeah, playoffs just aren't his thing.

which sucks, cuz that's kind of an important part of playing hockey.

that has nothing to do with time. in a few years he may well very be our best LW, but for now I see both Caufield and RHP ahead of him. and probably Heineman too.

If you are not playing Slaf in a top 6 role, send him to Laval.
- Mashadar

Disagree, nothing wrong with 3rd line duty AND some PP time

things will start happening a week or so before the draft, once the cup finals is done.

Caufield is the big topic for mtl this offseason, even if I dont think we should worry. But fans will lose their poop the more it get closer to july first. I mean, fans were panicking about Harris not signing with Mtl.

Other than that, its the 5th overall pick and who to pick that should be the big topic for a month or so. Cant see the Habs trading that one really.

If Hughes can use mtl cap space to get a player + a pick, Im sure he will look into this. I did mention Mantha, but pretty sure there is other options out there.

RHP won't be "ahead" of the Slovakian Jagr much longer.

I'm not convinced he'll start the season in Montreal but if he plays like he did at the end of the last AHL season, we can expect him to get called up at some point.
