just curious as to what have those 2 done that is innovative.

Carbery's movement schemes turbocharged the Leafs PP. He's also apparently big into pro skills development which is still a relatively new school thing for some reason. Very receptive to game planning and making adjustments based on data too, as you'd expect from somebody who worked for Dubas.

Cousins, Bob, I wonder if they'll be nice and give Patrick a ring too..

Mediocre return from a weak draft, ground breaking stuff

So quick to try and be snarky that you miss the point entirely.

It’s just irrelevant. We have a bunch of secondary players, until this team can get true difference makers we are going nowhere.

Caps and Preds are hiring modern day young and innovative coaches in Carbery and Brunnette. We have Brontosaurus Tortorella.

It's just repeat and rinse for you isn't. There is nothing wrong with Torts, or are you on the side that he is too mean to the players?

is that the perception or the reality when compared to other teams?
- hello it's me 2050

I would think you of all people would see that as reality. Are you arguing it is just perception?

They never played for Flyers. That’s all it takes for a few people on here. Briere and Jones will never be innovative because they played for the Flyers. 😏

I think they need to be given a chance to make it work but I am curious how this off-season goes. They will need to shed cap $$ and hopefully get creative with Ellis contract similar to the Pronger trade.

I hope that the flyers don't draft Dvorsky.
I'd much prefer Ryan Leonard or Benson, both of which have higher ceilings, imo
This will be the defining moment of DB and his view of what this team needs to begin his legacy as the new GM

If you sort the 2017 draft by total points, two Flyer draft picks are ranked 20th and 21st.

Perspective means a lot.

This board has a very poor perspective of most of the reality of the hockey world. It's comical

And I think Frost is going to start climbing that ladder.
- MBFlyerfan

I agree. Frost has found his game if the second half of last season says anything

Brunette did the same thing in Florida while working with the forwards and the PP there. Increased shot and chance quality. He then went to NJ and did the same thing to help Lindy Ruff. Both modern day NHL coaches who understand how to coach in the game today. We get shot blocking and intangibles and wondering if a player is a scorer or a banger.

That's actually the first time I commented on the hiring of those two coaches. There is plenty that is wrong with Tortorella.

Briere and Jones are in the front office. Not coaching.

Do you think Brunette would've faired better last year if they had Tkachuk and Bobrovsky standing on his head? The Panthers are benefitting from a lot of what Brunette did there.

does development need to improve yes 100%.

That being said compared to other teams how much "worse' are the flyers in getting players to become regular at the NHL level? They say 2 from each draft class is a success, or at least that was the case in the past.

To me it is more a drafting issue. How much more? Not sure.
