Suter has been a joke this series. His defensive play and terrible penalties make it easy to see why the Wild dumped his ass.

You forgot the 7 years of losing without any changes to the core issue. Pun intended.

The Penguins failed to win a Cup from 2010-2015. Should the Penguins have made a change to their core?

Winning in a market like Toronto is hard. Dubas put out competitive teams every year. It isnt his fault Matthews couldnt score, Tavares did nothing, and Marner just skated around.

Its a crazy league. TO is the type of situation where they could totally win a cup next year, or in the next few years, and it wouldn't shock me at all. As Pens fans we saw much better on paper rosters than the ones that won the B2B's fizzle out in the 1st two rounds, or swept in 3rd. Florida won the presidents trophy last season only to be swept in the 2nd round and needed the Pens to lose just to squeak into 8th this season. Nobody thought they were getting past Boston. Ovi and his caps didn't get one until he was 31 years old.

We now live in what have you done for me lately world, void of patience and respect. Not much retrospect, or introspect for that matter, on the go anymore, and the need for instant gratification just soars and soars.

I don't think anybody around here thinks that. I don't think any of the local sports guys thinks he's necessarily a good hire. I've mostly heard "what's he ever won?"

I didn't want a fossil and I'd be a little concerned with a first timer considering the coach wields so much power. Dubas is probably the best they can get all things considered. If it took a lot of convincing and a boat load of cash, I'd prefer they look elsewhere however.

Well he did win a Calder Cup. But the top level, nothing.

The Penguins also didn't lock in half of their cap with 4 forwards and ignore/underman the defense and goaltender positions. Sure they had highly paid superstars, but they also had enough cap to allow for proper roster construction. Although I thought they were the team to beat once they brought on ROR.

Hell, the Penguins had enough depth to win a Stanley Cup with (frank)ing Ron Hainsey on their top pair. RON (frank)ING HAINSEY! That shouldn't be possible.

How many pro championships has lil Danny Boy Briere won as a GM....or player...or been involved in at all?

None. Why do you ask?

Also, "lil Danny Boy Briere?" I know you can do much better.

That 2017 Penguins team was completely dominated and outplayed in 3 of the 4 series, especially the first 2. Murray rocked a 1.70 GA and .937 SV% and they scored at very optimistic times. Sometimes they'd score after not have a shot for 30ish mins haha. I still think back about it all and shake my head how crazy that run was.

hahaha this is how I've felt about most of your posts around here lately...

...and, well, he is small, looks like a boy and his name is Daniel Brier...

You're a Filthadelphia Cryer fan and he is your new GM, is why.

The only series where I'd say their skaters were "dominated" was Washington. They were way better than Columbus, and I think they were just about even with Ottawa and Nashville. But yes, Murray saved them time and again that year.

I am a Philadelphia Flyers fan, you spelled that incorrectly.

But what does a man with less than 3 months of (mostly interim) GM status have to do with a guy whose team has had 1 playoff series win in 5 seasons as GM?

Nah. CBJ completely out played them, pinned them in own zone for very long stretches of time and majorly out chanced them. They also physically punished them relentlessly. Bob wasn't good for them in that series at all, straight up terrible at times ...he rocked a 3.88 GA and .882 SV%

Youre just here casting shade about someone who has had success as a GM at a pro level while your team has a GM that hasnt won anything at a pro level in any capacity. Your Flyers blog probably the best place to cast shade about the Penguins, no?

Not casting any shade on the Pens at all, and since the Penguins already have their big pieces in place, I think Dubas would be a good hire for where they are right now. Doesn't change the face that he's won 1 playoff series in 5 years.

The Flyers suck right now, and I have no idea if Briere will be a good or even competent GM or not. There's no way to compare Briere and Dubas as GMs right now, though.

His son's an entitled spoiled Richard.

Which has a lot to do with Danny Briere's ability as an NHL GM.

It doesn't. Andy Reid is a good NFL coach but one of his kids died of an overdose and another is a poopbag. Just maybe their priorities are off.

Agreed, both Reid and Briere may not be good parents, I don't know them personaly. I knew a few kids who did hard drugs in school, especially college, who had what I would consider generally good parents. But yeah, they may be poopty parents, not going to argue it could be the case.
