2. Nonis was inherited so it's a bit unfair to pin him on Shanahan. Also, Lou Lams was explicitly contracted for 3 years as GM. After 3, he was to shift into an advisory role.

Yeah, I get that there's hindsight at play in making that assessment. But it's really the same version of hindsight we use to condemn Tavares contract.

The only thing Shanahan has done well is repeatedly scapegoat someone else, but once you start peeling that onion you realize he's consistently done a terrible job for years. And it shouldn't be overly surprising, dudes biggest credential for his job was working for DOPS. Probably not a good reason to hire Paros for such a position.

It sucks tuning in every game knowing there’s not going to be a big hit, or an epic fight (unless Schenn or Simmonds was playing).

Leafs put ZAR out there 3/4 of the season and he did sweet (frank) all.

If you want an old guy to add to the 4th line, it's Corey Perry. He's shown the past 3 or 4 years he can still play that role well and has a history of being a champion.
