This Sunday I am participating in the Baycrest Ride For Brain Health to raise funds for Baycrest Hospital's fight against dementia and continuing care of patients afflicted by it.

There wasn’t a thoughts and prayers option so I was forced to donate $. My mom suffered from dementia and I worry about not being far off myself.

You have to think with the world championships being over and everyone getting back to the states and Canada & so forth the pace of interviews and jobs is going to ramp up considerably -

You guys should hire Jim Rutherford. He can quickly turn a roster into a winning roster. Is he a bit of a d!ck? Yes. Does he do business differently than how I would? Sure. Is he a bit reckless? Absolutely. But he's in a win now mode at his age. He could quickly make a difference.

Murray was another Dubass idea that blew up in his face. And you would think he would have learned his lesson after the Mrazek debacle. But nope. Gotta acquire former Soo Greyhounds at any cost. Because stupidity.

It was an easy prediction to make and it came exactly true; Murray sucked and was on the LTIR by the All-Star game.

Samsonov was a good 1 year deal patch job but I don't think he proved very much more than just being average. He was usually average, sometimes above average but also sometimes below average. In the playoffs, his numbers were not that impressive and his overall technique was rather messy. He regularly got lost in his net and let in bad goals. He wasn't terrible but absolutely not the type of goalie you pin Stanley Cup dreams to.

If Winnipeg is going to rebuild and Hellebuyck is on the block, the Leafs should absolutely be the first ones to jump on that opportunity. Hellebuyck is still only 29 years old, has consistently proven to be a Vezina level goaltender, has proven he can play 60 games a season and has proven top 5 playoff numbers in the past 5 years.

With Hellebuyck as your undisputed starter, you can afford Woll an opportunity to play 32 games and get the best of both worlds. A rested, proven effective playoff performing starter and an extended trial run for Woll.

After that, you judge accordingly. You either pay for a proven elite goaltender and get what Florida is enjoying right now or you go with the cheaper Woll if he proves to be effective.

Treliving got an in person interview. They talked to Bergevin via Zoom. One other person (unknown) was interviewed in person (not Botteril, Hunter or Chia). This all from Friedman

Shanahan has been here for 9 years, pulls the strings and fires everybody else when things go poorly.

They should have all been fired together.
