I am sorry but this move is dumb. In what franking way does Okie fit in with our team other then good vibes in the locker room? Our team is all about being young and fast, neither are characteristics to describe Okie.

The only reason you sign Okie is to not upset the apple cart of momentum from last year. and that is just DUMB on the part of GMKA. So what, we need a DAD to babysit kids? JFC offer Okie a coaching job. His days of being productive are long gone. A complete waste of a roster spot IMO.

Let's pretend all 4 of those guys are ready. How many times has Kevo come out and stated he wouldn't block them? What's to stop him from moving other players off the roster? Why would kevo sign him if those 4 were ready to take 4RW from him?

People rightfully clamor about start trying to win. Not sure if adding Savoie, Kulich and/or Rousek to this lineup accomplishes that over trades/vet additions. Suddenly people care about blocking prospects so find a few guys with 1 or 2 years left/sign. The best teams in the league don't have rookies/kids leading them.

I'm less so trying to spin this positively and more so saying the Armageddon takes are unjustified. If Kyle provides leadership and defensive play on the ice, who is taking his spot and providing more in that role? And on top of that, is that particular guy going to get us into the playoffs over what Kyle already provides?

The list of players that could fill that role over Okposo is too long to list. Adams filled an NHL rostered position that should be used to fill the void of softness spread throughout the roster with a half dead man who had an absolutely horrible career playing for Buffalo.

A lot of people here simply need to find another team.

The Sabres find themselves chasing a playoff spot after the new year holiday, perhaps One of the kids has stepped up into a bigger role than expected/hoped for, and/or they add add the deadline? Idk, seems like they have enough cap space this year that this one year deal is a big nothing burger. His leadership with the boys might be worth a lot to coaches/FO suits, things that fans can rarely see as it mostly happens off ice.
Idk, seems like nothing to get too excited about, either way.
Panthers kept Derek MacKenzie around as captain in much the same fashion, with much of the same fan discussion surrounding it. It didn’t seem to hurt the team.

Hes taking away a 4th line defensive role with PK. He does this job well. None of the rookies are going to serve that role better this year.

Rousek is a LW could fill that 4LW slot.
The rest of them I wouldn't want on the 4th line. I certainly wouldn't want a 4th line consisting of 3 young players either. 2 of them being rooks.

Move greenway to 4L and you could have a 3rd line of Kulich-Mitts-Savoie.
