It's a fan site, I actually thought it was pretty decent Except UPL, I still think he can be a decent backup to Levi. But don't think he's that high anymore.

When they lose their waiver exemption, I can't call them a prospect.

That's the dilemma here. No longer a prospect, but hasn't locked down an NHL job yet. I don't get ranking him in front of recent 1st rounders, but it's his fan post.

Pretty much, I guess he hasn't played enough games but I don't think he is even in the top 10. There's still about 5 I would rate higher.

The Sabres had to win those games 7-5. 6-5 etc. he stinks

When the other teams backup goalie is better than UPL and comire. You have a problem

Upl and Comrie were like 43rd or something insanely bad at one point.

So like I said. The other teams starter and backup goalie was better than our starter for like 85% of the season

Very true. But if this Novikov guy is what he has been ranked at that is a hell of a find.

He didn’t get help is true. But that means they need to fix the d or go straight hasek in goalie. Hasek was a unicorn so fix the d.

His angles aren’t good
High glove hand isn’t good
His ability to read the play is poor (namely pass acrosses)
He plays very small for being 6’5

And absolutely terrible at shootouts

Well, wouldn't say that, he's won at the NHL Level. He needs to work on his feet, seem to get tangled up. He's a big goalie, and as much side to side as he was doing at times cause there were two recliners parked in front on most nights. Sometimes it gets hard to stop those big bodies.

A lot of people are high on him because defenders his age dont typically get the kind of ice time he got in the KHL unless theyre exceptional at one or both ends of the ice.

Ive never seen him play but im intrigued, and he'll probably get a ton of usage in the AHL

Obviously this isnt a blanket rule, but for a number of reasons (that I admit are debatable) you are better off loading up on forwards in the top 3 rounds of the draft.

I think a lot of that blows up when you reach on a G in the 2nd. Feels like there's some heavily analytics influenced picks and others with little to none. Imagine Brad Pitt trying to keep the scouts happy in Moneyball.
