Ya no, it’s cool.

Run it back.

It’s worked for the last 7 years, huh?

I really believe what this team needed most was a culture change, and a GM who isn’t committed to the “core four.”

A lot of promises were made (bad idea) by Dubas, and it hurt the team, imo.

Main issue for the Leafs is that there’s ZERO toughness in the top 6. Can’t win like that.

Unfortunately the Leafs have very little in terms of prospects because Doobie (frank)ed all that up (No one ever seems to talk about this) so I think moving one of the core 4 for a young middle 6 fwd and a top ten pick in this years draft would be something they need to consider.

Maybe Philly or the Caps (who might be in more of a quick rebuild mode) would consider this option. The Leafs can afford to take a step back as long as they make the playoffs.

I was hoping they would do that after last years playoffs. If they do it now and do it right, it can make an incredible difference for the better.

He's a dirty POS and has got away with at least half a dozen suspendable penalties this playoffs

Oh, no doubt about that. He'll get his at some point. Karma comes for all!

It’s gotta be JT or Willy.

The Leafs would be fine w/o either of them.

Unlikely they can finesse themselves out of JT’s MNC, so pretty boy perimeter is the odd cat out. Thanks for your services, but go make 10mil somewhere else.

Tavares' contract is buyout proof. Leafs would save like $303K per season for 2 seasons. Its a non-starter. Check Cap Friendly!

yup I know.

it's just like when people choose to include him in trades

not wise

He’s going to want 10+ mil.

He can’t play C, kill penalties, block shots etc.

He gets his cookies, but the top 6 needs to get tougher. He’s the obvious choice.

Bye Willeciaaaa…

be funny if he signed for 8.5M for 6 more year eh.

Gotta love: "That's why the faceoff is inside the zone."

Yeah. They can identify blatant interference. They just can't call it.

40 goals, 87 points, played less at 5on5 with Matthews than Marner did - but you still hate the guy. Marner blocked 29 shots and Nylander blocked 23. Marner had 77 takeaways and Nylander had 64. Marner had 65 giveaways to Nylander's 29.

Nylander is a valuable player.

Did you know that Jack Eichel has never had a season as good as Nylander's 40 goal / 87 point season and he's making $10m? Mark Stone has never hit 30 goals or 65 points and is making $9.5m.

Instead of gaslighting this with comparables to higher salaries for other reasons (Skinner @ $9m despite never producing anything? previously?), I'd say that Willy's production is very similar to a guy like Alex De Brincat. He's sitting on a $9m QO and probably looking for $10m.

He's worth $8.5m or more by today's market.

I find it highly amusing that the major anti Nylanderites are now putting all their chips on trade Nylander because they think they can save face if they are right probably hoping to say "told ya".

LOL he has been so much better than they thought. Nylander lives rent free.....

He can score a bit, but he is PAINFULLY soft. Not sure I care much if he goes or stays, I just cannot comprehend how someone can play pro hockey and not hit, backcheck, defend, have an edge, etc.

Hayley Wickenheiser would put more fear into Gudas than Willy Ny.

Hey, I wonder if she can still play...

His defensive positioning is questionable but you need to watch more games if you think he doesn’t back check

This is the most Canadian hockey post I've ever seen I think

More than one way to play the game.
