It’s clear you as well as many don’t know what you’re talking about at all. One moron brings up as a counter argument that a full time employer can stop another employee from doing another job, for example if Jonesy wanted to work for the Rangers while currently working for the Flyers. Well no poop buddy, because Jonesy I assume is contractually obliged to the Flyers while working in the same league as the rangers. My point, if you can’t think of a real reason to complain, why complain? Playoffs are over in 3 weeks. He’s not continuing with his work with TNT beyond the playoffs.

Does anyone here even know when Keith Jones contractual obligations to the Flyers are dated to begin? Maybe the contract kicks in after playoffs? I don’t know. Do you know?

Jesus people…

You seem unusually upset with my opinion. I'm not upset by your opinion. I don't think you're a "moron" for having it. I just disagree with it. Obviously Comcast is ok with it. It's my opinion that as the newly hired POHO of the Flyers it's inappropriate and sends a poor message about how seriously he's approaching the job as well as the seriousness of his position in general. To me it's irrelevant what his day to day responsibilities are. Give him a chance? What choice do I have? He's getting his chance. Not a good start in my opinion. We're on a hockey discussion site. I'm discussing the team I follow. I hope Jonesy does a good job. My "complaining' doesn't matter a bit. It's not going to change what is actually happening.

A press conference naming him as POHO seems a pretty good indication that he is now the POHO. They didnt say he's going to start after the playoffs. They didn't make him acting president. They announced that he is the President. The fact that Jonsey had to OK the TNT job with Comcast and that there has been a bunch of articles written about it and that we've been discussing it for days (and that people are getting so worked up about it) is an indication that it's at least a very unsual decision.

No, I came to the conclusion that your description of what Jones' day was like, was likely not accurate. For the reasons I gave.

Fair enough. You're reasoning is flawed, imo , but we can agree to disagree.

Fair enough but you can't actually give a legit reason why my reasoning is flawed.

I don't, but that's why I think your reasoning is flawed. Again, not saying I'm right and you're wrong. And I'm certainly not saying I agree with how this is going down. I do believe he is finding time to do PoHO tasks, if that's being tasked of him.

Interesting. My reasoning is flawed for not knowing when an actual pre production meeting occurs. However you were perfectly comfortable in assuming what Jones was doing during the day in your original post, as you did here. If we apply the same standard, then your reasoning in that post and the above, is flawed.

To me it's besides the point. He's the President of the company. He sets the tone for the whole organization. Perception matters here. Just like people say that Hakstol's lack of a pro resume made it difficult for players to take him seriously when he was the Flyer's coach.. Admit it you chuckled a little bit when it was announced that the new POHO of the Flyers was going to do color for the rest of the playoffs. The guys on TNT sure got a laugh out of it. It's a joke. It's just more evidence that the people who run this team are not taking things seriously. How are other teams supposed to take Jonsey seriously? How are the Flyers players supposed to take this seriously? It's just silly. Again, I hope it all works out for the Flyers. Maybe I'm wrong about it, but it sure makes Jonsey and the Flyers look like a joke to me.

I guess I just don't see why everyone thinks it's a big deal. I feel like Jonesy's primary focus will be facilitating good relationships around the league for Briere to use.

Greasing the proverbial wheels so to speak.

He is staying about as connected as you can get right now watching the best teams at ice level do what they do. It's not like he is off on a safari.

I feel like cultivating relationships and keeping up goodwill with the people at his soon to be old job, and still having access is a good thing.

For god's sake, our POHO is in pregame prep meetings with the coaches/staff and players of teams his team will be competing against next season. The best teams in the league. That is pretty crazy when you think about it. In a good way. I'll take all those insights.

I agree with you. I don't like the decision, but it's not mine to make. I definitely laughed. So Flyers, though.

Yes, your reasoning is flawed for that reason. As originally stated, Jones is a hustler. He's been in studio at WIP for the 6am broadcast, then called games at night. I'm simply saying he has the bandwidth to do both during the off-season for a couple weeks.

Regardless, our opinions don't matter. I think the whole situation is comical. Hopefully he surprises us all.

Interesting perspective. Geez I'm surprised the NHL is ok with giving the Flyers this great advantage. Now we're going to know all the top secret stuff that only the best teams in the league know.

The first question I have to ask is why would that be Jones' primary focus? Secondly, what does that get the Flyers?

Is working a few more playoffs games going to get him that much more connected that he supposedly already is?
I don't think he's getting any insight in those meetings that is going to greatly aid the Flyers.

Interesting. Your reasoning is not flawed though?

Your original point was that Jones was doing all Flyers work during the day and then working TV at night. I pointed out that was unlikely. My reasoning is not flawed. It's spot on. My reasoning pointed out the obvious flaws in your position.

Didn't Jones already have that from all the years doing TV? I'm not buying it.
