Its not just a boring hire, its an awful one. Fireable from Shannahan. I wouldnt even interview him. Surprised he is even a candidate.
I dont like any of the GMs out there to be honest. Id try for the below
First calls
Armstrong - Likely not available
McPhee - Likely wouldnt want it
Second Call
Tulsky
If none of those, juust keep Pridham, and hire some senior guys to help him. Dont know what else is out there that would be good. - Archaic
Dubas is starting to sound like a really good option. |

Treliving used to canadian market, used to meddling ownership group and not afraid to make big slashes. COuld do way worse |

I love how we think we know some how some AGMs will do
Treliving has made some good trades, some tough ones.
Also trading is not going to be the difficult part for this team. It is a 105 point team. |

Look at his history, they really couldnt do much worse. He has never made it past the first round, and he a horrible history for trades. |

Its where most good GMs come from, so thats the hope. Quite frankly, for Toronto I would prefer an experienced GM, but would rather have the potential for a good GM, then a known bad one.
How are trades not going to be a problem? Thats kind of a key for a team. Treliving hasnt made a really good trade his who time in Calgary. |

See if you could pry Cassidy out of Vegas -
What I've seen so far that guy can coach - Has success with B's then does this high wire act with 4 goalies that frankly are not anything to crow about -
Makes 4 lines work with multiple stars and nary a peep or complaint.

11. Looks like Corey Perry will be hitting the market. After all these years, do the Maple Leafs finally make it work? Think of the content.
I hate the guy but yes please |

For 1M it is a no brainer for any team that can take the financial hit if he finally sucks. |

Treliving absolutely sucks. I cant believe he is even being considered. Take a look at this trade history https://www.capfriendly.c...ades/staff/brad-treliving
What trade on there did he win? They are all mid to bad trades. People on here who hated Dubas will be wishing for him back if we get Treliving in the end. - Archaic
Pretty mediocre .....like every GM name you punch into the machine. He's no dummy and he'd have a ridiculously large and well-paid staff surrounding him. The one part of Shanny's operating model I like is that it's all about collaboration. Get various view points and input before any decision is made.
Whether it's him or someone else I just want someone who's confident and can deal with the added noise in Toronto. |

No one loves pears more than I... but who are you dropping to make room for him and even with those hands still butter around the net he's not helping in the speed dept. 4 yrs ago sure. next yr..
Just better options out there for Leafers.

I'm not sure I'd be interested but why would they have to drop somebody to add him? He's not getting a big pay day. |

Doug Wilson is available and said to be wanting back in... Guy makes big deals and could deal with Toronto -
I wouldn't do it but he is exp and knowledgeable and respected league wide.

Health aside. Wilson has been a poopty GM since 2016. He was great in the mid-2000's, but his time is done. Maybe as a Senior Advisor or something... |

No not the money... who from the lineup. Figuring Knies is top 6 that pushes guys down. He's 4th liner at this point no more.
Kampf, Robertson saying he makes team. Lafferty, Accari, Aston-Reese- Kerfoot.

He is more of what we need on the 4th line for sure. You are dropped ZAR easily.
Free agents that arent coming back for the Leafs
Bunting
ZAR
Kampf
Holl
Kerfoot
O'Reilly
They have room for Perry. They should resign Schenn/Acciari
Free agents they should look at
Perry
Compher
Bertuzzi
Soucy
Pacioretty
Wood
Barbashev

Actually not even remotely true.
Dubas routinely changed, or more accurately altered, his philosophy. - GreatGigInTheSky
I guess people see it differently, until last year...and the deadline additions of O'Reilly and Acciari...I saw a very stubborn GM that was employing his "Skill above all else" mentality throughout his tenure. I do believe the last year or so he began to deviate a little to add intangibles. But, my guess...tooo little, too late.
