Canucks like Willander a lot.
Was told on weekend they are very high on him.

Going to dinner is a big sign too. I guess it C or D they keyed on to draft.

Bobfather has Willander at 46?

That’s an old ranking. I believe Bob’s final list comes out in a couple days. Willander will rocket up his list

He’s a late riser. I don’t know what to say other then RHD that can skate and have size are hard to come by and he fits that. His skill set is steady. Practical level he can play in Abby sooner than later.
- Quinn's Quest

He is also heading to the NCAA which should be great for his development

Many smart, talented journalists have been laid off by The Athletic today.

And, also, me.

It was a wonderful adventure of almost seven years, from being one of the first dozen or so hires the founders made in 2016 all the way up to today.

Thank you for reading along.

The founders of the Athletic pulled off the ultimate pump & dump scheme. Basically, the doge coin of journalism.

Awful to see something that started out so promising be sold out like this. We knew it would the second NYT bought. The writers and readers deserve better. Shameful.

The @nytimes recently disclosed the latest compensation packages for our top executives. Among the highlights: Our C.E.O., @meredith_levien, was paid $7.6 million in 2022, up from $4.4 million in 2020. That’s a 73% increase.

@NYTimesGuild
In total, the combined compensation for our five most highly paid executive officers rose to $18.3 million in 2022, up from $12.5 million in 2020.

"You don't win with players like Eichel" - someone in here who hates Eichel.

Conn Smythe talk

- manvanfan

To be fair, Eichel never had the kind of support in Buffalo that he has in Vegas, he hasn't won until now (and still hasn't until the Cup is awarded to Vegas) so there is some truth to it. It does look very likely that Vegas will win and I do agree that he should win the Conn Smythe if Vegas takes it tonight.

He's waiting for more bad news. Shouldn't be too much longer before we get a blog. Maybe some tampering or a hushed Pouty trade request.

Note the plural there, /players/ like Eichel, the answer is yes. Eichel himself isn't good enough to win by himself or even get a team into the playoffs, see Buffalo, but that doesn't mean he can't win with a decent supporting cast which Vegas has.

Looking at 5-on-5 play, there have been 18 goals in the Stanley Cup Final. Those goals have been scored on average 6.88 seconds after the puck enters the zone. Thirteen of the 18 have come with less than 7 seconds of zone time.

The Golden Knights have 11 goals at 5-on-5, they are averaging 7.63 seconds between entry and goal. Florida has seven 5-on-5 goals and is averaging 5.71 seconds between entry and goal.

This is where the Sedin's probably failed and also current Canucks are still failing.

and Vegas can't win without a player like Eichel or they would have won it already but haven't because they needed Eichel.

Again, fair, chemistry and skill sets complementing each other matter a lot. Vegas would not be in this spot without Eichel and Eichel wouldn't be in this position had he not been on Vegas.

There is word this afternoon the NYR and Peter Laviolette are gaining momentum. Nothing is done until it’s done, but, barring a swerve, looking like Laviolette as next Rangers head coach.

Thanks. I can't stand Pronman so I didn't get very far on that one. The other one gave me a bit of a boner for Willander.
