Because he is about to be paid $8MM per year until he is 37. Yes, he is worth $8MM this year and maybe a few more, but the contract will eventually have negative value. It’s a huge financial commitment and a team aquiring him won’t be getting much surplus value. The only teams that might be interested will likely be not very good and have trouble attracting free agents.

So again, I think the market will be limited so why in the hell would a team give up a top 5 pick in a very strong draft
