Been told Canucks defenseman Ethan Bear will have surgery on his shoulder.

No update on his contract status.

After watching Vegas play a great final, I've found a new level of hate for the passive Canucks.

I saw that. That's just a fancy stat made up by someone to make excuses. Fancy stats are a useful tool, one of many, but they're just like religion, they're just an excuse to help losers cope with failure.

PDO is not really fancy, it's just save % combined with shooting %, pretty basic stuff. You'll notice the covid Canucks are high up on the chart as well, which lends a bit of credibility to the stat

And it juuuuuuuuust so happens that Patches and Stone just HAPPENED to go on LTIR in time for Vegas to trade for Eichel and so he could play right? No conspiracy or abuse, just coincidence... nothing to see here.

I don’t believe it. This is assuming the Canucks don’t botch the surgery/ recovery. Sadly, Bear has likely played his last game and may never be able to play catch with his son

It would be crazy to give him a contract but it is the Canucks so I expect a ful 2 year deal with a NMC.

not only does Bear need new deal, but with this news #Canucks RD in even more of a state of flux after Hronek & Myers. Does team double back on Burroughs/Juulsen? Is Luke Schenn more of a target? Is Jett Woo or Cole McWard ready for full time #NHL work? Is Poolman even an option?

You're right, Stone recovering just in time to play in the playoffs is a complete coincidence It's the same thing Tampa did with Kucherov.

I'm not complaining about it, just saying I hope the Canucks are smart enough to use the same methods whenever the team becomes good enough to compete.
