Actually it's like starting a new job that's supposed to be a full time role, but you keep doing your old job for a while so that you get paid twice. - Feanor
So…?? Stop making a living? Pull out in the middle of playoffs?? Would you feel more comfortable if he accepted the job after the playoffs were over? Personally I don’t think it’s any of our business how many jobs Jonesy works. |

It would be cool if the Flyers could make the Caps pay to move up for Michkov, but Washington know Jonesy and Torts would never allow Briere to take him. - Feanor
Considering they want Gauthier to go back to school maybe just maybe they will take a chance on the Russian kid. There’s so much to his story but this kid has a chance to be a super star talent. No one else at #7 will have that upside. If they aren’t in a rush for him to come over I would think they do not pass on him….I don’t think he would get past MTL. |

I'd also be shocked if he made it past Montreal. They have Florida's first rounder so they can afford to take a swing at 5 and settle for a safer pick later in the round, or even grab a guy who falls. |

I have no problem with Jonesy completing his obligations. If anything I look at it this way, our POHO is watching the conference finals between the benches. Getting a unique view on how these two teams got there to begin with.
I don't see the problem. It's not like he is going to get injured or something.

I'd be pretty disappointed if this is how the draft shakes out. - TobyFlenderson
Dvorsky strikes me as a Couturier "type" player. A strong 200 foot guy with size who can produce offense who will be primarily known as an all around do it all type forward. But who lacks the foot speed to be a truly offensive force at the NHL level.
I would rather they picked the most dynamic player available. If Michkov is there they cannot afford to skip him. Especially if it means Washington can pick him and we get to watch Michkov torture us for a decade. |

yea, said it before, unless you can get the caps to give something significant for him, take him.

This is exactly how I see it. Jonesy’s current job is to watch the best possible hockey right now. You take what you’re watching and you see how you can make this work here, in Philadelphia. Technically he’s doing his as president of hockey operations while he’s broadcasting. |

Would the 2023 #8, 2023 #40, and one of their three 2025 2nd round picks do it for you?
Or Washington?
Discuss.

The threat that the Flyers would otherwise take Michkov at #7 would have to be credible. Not sure the Caps would buy it. |

Of course. I believe that threat would be real. In reality the deal would have to be already in place in case he dropped to 7 to begin with. I sincerely doubt he does.

I doubt he drops that far either. And if he does, the Flyers would probably pass on him too. They just don't have the organizational gumption to take that kind of swing.
We're talking about the same team that was heard laughing at the next table over when Calgary took Theo Fleury in the 8th-round. |

Seems like RHD and Top 2 centers are hardest positions to trade/sign for. Makes sense drafting and developing... I realize I said develop. But WTH? Hopefully we address those development issues. |

34 year old coming off major injury… - ClaudeFather
Yes, with only one year left on his deal. They needed scoring. It was a risk worth taking. It just didn't work out. |

Or the threat of the Flyers trading the pick to another team that really wants Michkov. I believe that would be the primary motivating factor for the Caps to make a deal to move up 1 spot. IMO, if the Flyers are sold enough on Michkov's situation that they would even be open to taking him at 7, then they should just take him. |

if the flyers want a RHD, and it seems they do that is a possibility. Whoever is the most flyeresque players is what I expect. Whoever that may be.
I am in the camp of dont see him falling or at least another team trading up to get him before the 7th pick.
Don't know what they have to offer though would Tampa be a possibility Michkov to trade up? |

Same. This is a typical flyers pick though.
Let's see if this "new era of orange" means we stop picking previous typical flyers choices
Swing for the fence. Take michkov, if he is there |

Jonesy finishing up his broadcasting career in the Stanley cup playoffs is the equivalent of quitting your job and giving two weeks notice before starting your new job. Like…why are we mad about this? He’s watching the best possible hockey right now, which is a good thing. - SuperSchennBros
Unknown why or how anyone has an issue with this. Obviously his new employer doesn’t nor does the NHL. |
