That was my first take on it, too. It could _also_ be that because his contract ends on June 30 and they will need to backfill him that they need to move to let him go in order to seek his replacement if he is not going to return. But the "mutually parted ways," phrase is often used in these cases.

It could be that in the assessment of Shanny and the brass he hasn't done enough and was legitimately fired for lack of performance.

Doz, just a heads up - that's a parody account. Fake.

I'm going to guess this had less to do with the environment in the city and more to do with the travel and pressures and absences away from young kids.

When they asked if he would leave for another organization and he said 'no', you could call it posturing (like some will), but if you take it at face value along with his comment about wanting to talk with his family about it - it more speaks to a person who wasn't there enough for his family, not that the external environment is the problem.

Don't get me wrong - Toronto CAN be - but do you know who Dubas' wife is - or his kids? I don't.

I didn’t necessarily believe the “no” but admit it’s a guess. Doubt he would have openly admitted he would be willing to look elsewhere at that particular moment.

He said he had to speak with his wife about it and it was reported by Friedman that he was stepping down shortly thereafter. So yeah, it’s either get away from Toronto which is an open circus for anyone involved with the team, or truly wants to be not working for a year or two.
