I know firsthand in Pittsburgh, only a handful get any attention (Crosby, Lemieux, Malkin, Letang, Fleury, head coach at the time). Their executives and most players never have any issues. Steelers have major issues, but not Penguins. And Pittsburgh is a more dedicated NHL city than most. Like you said, southern US cities wouldn't have a clue who Dubas is ever. Much less care about his family.
