No changes. Great the way it is. It's the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

No.

The game of hockey, at least at the official level, is intended to play 5v5. When you have 4v4 the "dynamic" of the game changes. It is possible to have teams that are not great 5v5 but very good 4v4 and vice-versa. It changes even more so 3v3. When you change the dynamic of the game like this it makes it easier for an undeserving team to win the game.

I am also in favor of getting rid of 3v3 in the regular season and bringing back ties.

Completely agree. Bring back the ties. Get rid of the ot point. If the league cannot solve the playoffs in that format they are insane

"After watching a 7 period hockey game last night, the question has to be asked"

No sir it does NOT!!! I'm actually a bit embarrassed that I even put up a reply.

Really sucks for the beer drinkers. They get drunk in the nosebleeds and have to come down again ha ha. I remember at least an ot period I had to watch with no beer. I couldn’t imagine having to watch an entire game + with no booze

The game was awesome. The two teams played great. Power plays were involved…just took a long time because of awesome goaltending on both ends. Just appreciate what you saw.

Go watch a soccer match and see how horrible a shootout is.

The World Cup was decided on penalty kicks that just sucked the drama and life out of such a great match.

Changing the NHL playoffs would do the same. But like other multi OT games the ticket holders didn’t leave they got their money’s worth. So imagine viewers around the world.

The playoffs are a grind. These teams won their previous series in 5 games so playing multiple OT won’t harm them.

Either way no reason to change things.

Keep it the same. No need to change it for a few Bud Lite drinkers.

I say play two full overtimes at 5on5. No goals?? Next overtime is 4on4?? No goals?? One more period at 4on4. No goals?? Then go down to 3on3 till someone scores. But NEVER SHOOTOUTS!!! Not a fan of 3on3. But it is a part of the game now and shouldn't be totally ignored. Doubt many playoff games would ever reach that far anyway.

Yeah Ek, big changes need to be made. It’s excruciating to watch a 1:51 OT.

OT wasn’t long enough last night maybe Carolina should get 5-4 power play to see if they can tie the game then play on as normal.

Tell me you don't know what woke means without saying you don't know what woke means This is such a dumb comment.

On the topic of changing up how playoff OT is handled, though, go for it!

Nope, playoff OT is great....

Now what needs fixing is regular season OT. This puck possession, keep away style is boring as it gets. Make it a minor penalty if the team with puck possession enters the offensive zone and then willing leaves the zone with the puck.
