He can hit 1000 games, and if he gives you 45-50 games I think he still has enough in the tank to make an impact

In all seriousness, I think its fine. Deflating sure but id rather get those moves out of the way first. I believe he was gunna get a 2 year deal in fa so they're paying to avoid that.

But more importantly, like it or not, if he chooses not to retire and they let him walk I think more than a few players on the team would be a bit ticked. Its a largely inconsequential move that keeps ppl happy.

I dont like it, i don't hate it. It /shouldn't/ stop them from doing the things they need to do in order to be a playoff team next year.

My understanding is he's going to FA. He wants term, and I think the org isnt gunna do that with their 4th line anymore.
