Good Post!! Agreed on Greenway. And I don't think Murray will ever get that shot with Buffalo, but not because of his skating like a few have stated, but because of the Forward depth they have.
- Buff36

Do the Sabres have forward depth for the 4th line?

Murray, Rousek, Greenway for next season?

Kozak and Nadeau down the road?

This is very very wrong and uneducated comment.

Amateur Hockey in Phoenix has been growing a lot the last decade or so.

Hockey is starting to pick up so much that Arizona has college hockey team.

The main issue is the arena. The original arena they used was 45 minutes to an 1 hour with traffic and out in the middle of no where. Fans hated it.

Guess it depends on who comes back, is Girgs and Okposo coming back. Adams has left himself some decisions on which way he wants to take this.

The description above is exactly why Granato pounded the table for Greenway.

He's getting the chance there long before Murray.

That said, agreed with giving Murray a shot on the 4th line.

If they're going the route of fresh blood on the 4th line in Murray and Rousek, they should go big game hunting on defense and at forward (one of each).

With their pipeline of forwards, they could incorporate the cost of one big addition at each of the above and have little cap issues going forward.

He's on every list because he's good at a high demand position šŸ˜‚

I doubt it has much if anything to do with actually being available.

Interesting that they gave Novikov, a 6th round pick, $57K in performance bonuses.

Curious if that is part of what it took to get him to sign.

Savoie Ostlund Nadeau watching and learning from Appert and Company. Getting a Offseason Workout Schedule from Mair and the Development Coaches on things to improve on. Getting to know Rosen Kulich Rousek and so to build hopefully some Bonds. Good Stuff!!

Could be, big reason he fell was because people didn't think he would sign.

For anyone that wants to watch the Amerks. AHL TV is running a Special I believe where you can pick just the Rochester games to be televised and it's $10.99 for the next round. I bought the yearly package in the Beginning for 39 dollars. Money well spent I got to see a lot of the growth of Rosen and Kulich and a few others.

Certainly would look better in blue and gold than he does in those horrible Toronto knock-offs he skates around in currently.

Sabres fans are delusional. Why on earth do people think Murray should be on this roster?

Heā€™s a career AHLer that has poor NHL level skating and stone hands.

If you are watching playoffs. Notice the speed and skill.

The teams with grit are long gone playoffs wise.

Just because Phoenix didnā€™t agree to let the team build an area. Doesnā€™t show you how much hockey has grown in the area. Both of those donā€™t correlate.

Austin Matthews was a coyotes fan growing up and went to games. Imagine if that didnā€™t happen.

Or here is another. Tage same story. The Sabres wouldnā€™t have tage if he didnā€™t grow up a coyotes fan

So again the average fan has no idea what they are talking about

Tage came from a hockey family, regardless of the Coyotes he was growing up with the game of hockey.

Just saying.

The first sentence of his reply might not have accomplished much other than sounding insulting, a Fitzian slip, if you will. But, thereā€™s truth in what he said. Itā€™s hard to build a loyal, local fan base of paying customers when theyā€™ve all spent the last 10 years (or more) wondering ā€œif this year will be the Coyotesā€™ last year hereā€...
but hockey is growing among the local youth.
I havenā€™t been to AZ myself, but Iā€™ve seen the same thing here.... A pooptily run team that people see as a waste of their money. But the kids keep playing, and the gameā€™s popularity keeps growing in the shadows. AZā€™s problem is the fiasco that the various people running the organization have been since the move out to Glendale. AZā€™s problem is not that people there donā€™t like hockey.
It is time for Bettman and the League to back up their ā€œdesert dreamā€ with more than simply lip service by helping the owner finance an arena. The taxpayers (rightly) arenā€™t interested in funding it. If the League wonā€™t do so, then perhaps itā€™s time to move them. That would be a shame for the fans there that have supported the team.

* Gotta give TB credit for doing whatever was necessary to get Stamkos to re-sign and not go home to Toronto.....

ā€œHey, Stammer, hereā€™s our extension offer....and btw, check these new jerseys out!ā€

ā€œOh boy, those are just Leafy!ā€ ā€œI always wanted to wear this color...ā€ ā€œWhere do I sign?ā€ *

Heā€™s not even a bottom 6 NHL player. Not even close.

Most AHL teams consist of 3-5 NHL prospect kids with talent that play a lot and a lot of scrappy no name grinders who will never make it to the show.

Being half way decent at the AHL level isnā€™t difficult as a veteran AHLer

An 18/19 year old. Obviously way more difficult

Itā€™s hard to explain the difference on a message board.

Itā€™s little things you will see during the game. They almost look awkward.

Think about Casey fitgeralds errant passing during a Sabres game and you go OMG why did you do that.

That is a normal AHL occurrence and completely acceptable at that level

The 1st sentence was based on genetic blob of a comment you read on twitter. The average fan just doesnā€™t get it.

And exactly my point about local hockey.

If we go by the commenters original point ā€¦.. based on attendance and fan support. The Sabres are a bad hockey city and should be moved.

Same logic. Sabres donā€™t have a lease problem, but they do have a hunk of junk arena that is old and outdated.
