Samsonov ranked 19th.

The Leafs deserved to beat Tampa.

Deserved one if not both of those first two games against Florida.

Sometimes, it’s the way the cookie crumbles.

Ovechkins Capitals made it past the second round twice in his entire tenure there to date despite there being several Captials teams that were arguably the best team in the league that given year

By that logic, TB deserved 2 games they lost. You're being very inconsistent here.

I think I heard that the first 3 bank bailouts this year already exceed the total $ amount from 2008. It is scary and nobody is talking about it
- TheHank

I’m pretty sure everyone is talking about it, smart money is hoarding cash, this time the focus is commercial real estate not homes.

Tampa also won one game they didn’t deserve to win.

Perhaps the series should have went 7, but the better team won the series.

Florida very well could have beaten Toronto in 6 or 7, but they didn’t necessarily deserve to go out in 5 either

Bozos and their crypto money.

Just like there shouldn't be investment banks, there shouldn't be crypto banks that do anything but crypto. What's that? You lost your shirt trading wildly unstable assets? Hmmpf. That's a stumper for sure. I want my bank to be a bank, not a speculator. Real estate and cars are fine, at least you get a tangible asset you can sell to recoup some of the losses on a default. Can't do that with the market or crypto.

it's stupid to leave a lot of money in a traditional bank account

I get 4.15 percent daily interest in paypal savings which is FDIC insured for 250k

I have 200 K in 1 account and my wife has 75 K in another account

the days of the banks giving people 10 dollars a month in interest while charging all these fees is their downfall

You're not wrong but it's a whole different discussion. These banks are giving out shìtty loans and investing in shìtty losing assets causing their balance sheets to invert. It's pure rampant unchecked stupidity on their parts and once again John q taxpayer will foot the bill for it.

One of the banks failed because they piled into long duration bonds at the worst time to buy bonds.

As yields increase, bond prices go down as an inverse relationship.

Hence why GIC’s and your just typical savings account are paying 4-5% right now as short term yields spiked leading and these are short duration products.

They had to sell their bonds at huge losses to maintain their funding requirements.

The only winners are the ones who locked jn sub 3% rates during the window where housing more than doubled in price.

A 20% drop from all time highs is still a substantial increase from just 3 years ago.

My wife and I are incredibly fortunate and lucky to be in the group you outlined above.

Bought in 2015 at a near low point for under $200K at 3.5%.

Spent $8K on wise updates, such as updating insulation where there was minimal to none, which saved us 40% on our heating bill.

Refinanced in 2019 after our home's worth went up roughly $40K, to get rid of our PMI at 3%.

Renovated our kitchen, living and dining rooms later in 2019.

Refinanced again in spring of 2021 to a 15 year loan at 2%.

Our home value has gone up over $100K since we bought it, and we now have a 13 year loan at 2% for less than $180K.

Very, very lucky.

Random thought added for some to consider when seeing the word “grit” used to describe a player or a play style.

Grit is more about determination and having a never quit attitude. Grit is tenacity, like a pit bull who has gotten a grip.

Grit is not about displaying knuckle dragging tendencies and/or skills. & Grit does not simply equal, “hits a lot”.

- Ratsreign

It’s almost as if we live in a country full of English speakers who fail on the most basic levels to comprehend the words in the language and what they actually mean, despite 18 years of indoctrination and a plethora of tools at our disposal that describe the meaning if those words?

My brother's place in Tampa, 399k 10 years ago, today $1.6M. And the empty lots go for more cause the new owner doesnt have to waste money to demolish before building new. Pretty similar.

- TheHank

We purchased outside of Tampa in march 2020. $410,000, put $75000 in to it. Kitchen, and three bathrooms, cabinets, sinks, and some new tile in master bath.
Loved the city, hated the traffic. Sold 17 months later. $660,000.

Olofsson offer is pretty likely. Maybe not the stars but if the Sabres eat half his contract.

So what 2.3 ish for a 30 goal scorer. That could get some good value.

UPL one is mehhh

I have been in Sales my whole entire adult life, I am a damn good negotiator when it comes to buying my trucks. usually get them for $15K or more under MSRP

However no matter how much of a good deal I get, I always feel like I am getting screwed somehow.

I truly hate buying Vehicles.

I would love to pretend I'm some of sort of hyper intelligent genius who knew when to strike, but that's not true.

Just got lucky with timing, and had the means to take action when the opportunity arose.

Did the same with my cars.
