I’ll grab a leftover team. I usually take Edm but they’re without a first.

Speaking of Edmonton, Draisitl has to be on the table to be moved. What would it take to get? I think it starts with Miller and Laf, should we go there? I think he’s capable of great things with Panarin. Goodrow would also have to be involved for the money to even out some. If we can’t trade Panarin we need at least get the best out of him, so maybe it’s Leon

But something like

Laf
Miller
Goodrow
First rd pick(s)

Goodrow could be a good addition for them as muck and grinder player. I doubt he’d refuse a trade there since they are close.

Just another cockamamie idea I have!

Idk man. 8 years together, he and McDavid, and they’ve got nothing. A few teams could be looking at massive shakeups, include us

Miller and Laf I brought up because they’re getting raises and we couldn’t afford them anyway, with Leon. I’d send Chytil packin instead Ek has Nylander as someone to get traded too

Something big is going happen this summer, just a question of what

I think the Rangers, Oilers and Leafs are all in different boats. Although our top players didnt perform up to their potential, it might have been a result of a poor system deployed. The Oilers had their best players performed, it is what their supporting group is whats lacking. The Leafs are a mess all around and it stated with signing of JT. They are the poster child for spending too much on a few players and being top heavy in a Cap world. The although IMO the Rangers are dangerously close salary structure wise to the Leafs.

They haven’t won. If I’m a fan of theirs I want changes. They are very top heavy and need defense. They were brutal last night. Granted the goaltending let them down too. But I don’t see how they don’t shake something up, and I highly doubt it would be McDavid

They’re all close in that the pressure they’ll face in the next couple years to win a cup is massive. Our corp hasn’t had as many disappointments as theirs have yet tho. Those two teams are going on 5+ years probably and we really just had our first. Last year was a building block, not a disappointment. But it made this year very much a bitter disappointment

The salary structure isn’t as bad as we think. I do those cap friendly things all the time, and if we dump Goodrow it’s not that bad. And in 3 years when Panarin is off the books, and the cap going up steadily, we’ll have plenty of cap space. The key is having ELCs to keep coming in every year and we’ll have that pretty much for a few years.

All I know is Drury isn’t going to sit on his hands and something big is coming. And it wasn’t firing GG

If I'm in charge of the Oilers, I'm blowing it up. But I also hate watching the team I root for lose. Some owners and GMs are more content with that as long as the money keeps rolling in.

You’d want to blow up the team that wins the cup this year tho (a joke don’t be mad at me) because that’s in your nature to tank and sell

Yes. Guilty as charged. I'm unreasonable when it comes to the Rangers.

I think you will be disappointed, the Rangers cant do anything big per-say, the contracts you would want to move have NMC's and they dont have Cap space to do anything significant.

I don't think the answer is trading, in my opinion, the second best player in the world. Who is making EIGHT AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS. That's the best value contract in the league

How bad is that darnell nurse contract looking right about now. Full nmc and what 7 years at 9.25mill a year. Seems like half the team is locked up long term but mcdavid and Draisaitl

Thought this was pretty interesting.

#22 - K'Andre
#31 - Laf
#49 - Jimmy freaking Vesey

K'Andre and Laf are about to take a nosedive in those rankings with their new contracts

After Vesey it's Chytil at #143 and Schneider at #147 and Kakko at #152

Kind of not a great sign without the 3 kids making big jumps ASAP. Laf with a new contract coming up, Chytil's already signed, Kakko in a year. That's where the extra production needs to come from, obviously. Unless any of them are moved

All the teams left have no superstars.

Tkachuk would be the closest to a superstar but he does all the things the other superstars of the league don’t do. Plays a hard physical agitating game.

DAL has gritty vets like Pavelski and Benn
SEA is a group of gritty players that leave it all out there every game.
VGK is similar to SEA, just a group of gritty players that hustle every shift.

Barkov is a superstar too. He had like 95 points in under 70 games last season. And eichel is for Vegas.

I would not classify Eichel as a superstar. He's elite at almost a point per game as a center. But he is definitely not in the Tkachuk superstar tier. For me it goes

Mcdavid Tier: Mcdavid
God Tier: Draisaitl/Mackinnon
Superstar Tier: Tkachuk, Matthews, Pastrnak, Rantanen, probably a few others
