It does not seem like there is a front-runner for the GM position. nt looks like they are doing their due diligence. If they just handed it over to Conroy that would look pretty bad.

But if they do not hand it over to Conroy what does that mean for him???

The 2 locals are not young and progressive. Pascall is much more qualified than Conroy. I see Conroy in a public relations role, like VP Communications. You're right if Conroy becomes GM that would look pretty bad. I guess we're about to find out, perhaps before Monday.

Not allowing Treliving to talk to other teams is a smart move. This handcuffs organizations that want to talk to Tre and will possibly delay them. Meanwhile Calgary can talk to everyone else and hopefully get something finalized while other teams are waiting to talk to Tre. Say whatever about Edwards but he's a smart dude.

Just listening to Seravalli on the Flames Talk podcast. He is saying that Maloney talked to over 40 candidates.

They are all selling Conroy hard as the best candidate "for so many reasons."

They are also saying that from Edwards all the way down, the goal next year is playoffs.

Fun times in Flamesville.

The flames have this weird thing going where every other year they miss playoffs. So I am thinking they will play well this year and make playoffs.

This means they will probably lose a bunch of UFA's for nothing.

According to Saravelli Edwards is screwing Tre over by not making him available. Velli says it will be too late in the off-season for a team to bring Tre in.

The Penguins pick at 14 and the Flames at 16 so for me its not that unreasonable for the Flames to want to protect their draft scouting intel from the Pens.

Flames need help everywhere. We definitely need to draft bpa but it would be nice if they targeted a top pairing D. Reinbacher, Pellikka, are probably the top 2 ranked prospects but there are others available. If not a D the Flames 2nd biggest need is at center, there seems to be a few that might be available at 16. Danielson, Moore, Yager could all fall to when they pick.
Going to be an interesting next couple months as a Flames fan.

Dubas will want too much money for Murrys budget and I dont think his resume is very impressive anyway.

I 100% believe Tre goes to the Leafs. They will hire someone to be the intern GM for the draft and Tre will be brought on board the day after his contract with Calgary expires.
