I love hockey and started playing at 6. It's the only sport I really care about. That said, what Pietrangelo did is why hockey will never be a mainstream sport in the USA. Crazy, uncalled for, undisciplined, etc. He should be suspended for the remainder of the series, at minimum.

Imagine if an MLB player took his bat and hit someone with it. He'd be gone for the season, maybe longer. The NHL really needs to get the bullsh!t out of the game.

Meh. Guess he has no prior history so that is fair. His absence hurts Vegas more than Nurse being out so we will take it.

Definitely, this series is the most entertaining one to watch. 2 good teams but the Oil have McDavid and Draisaitl which gives them a huge advantage.

Those guys are OK, but the oilers real difference maker is Mattias Janmark. Guy gets poop done and is so elusive that other teams don't even know when he is going to play.

I thought the x Flames Ryan and Kulak were the difference makers

Yeah he's OK too. But like the kman said, former flames Dryan and Bkulak are the real driving force behind this team.

Wow. So much wrong with this post. So little time but here goes.
Hockey is very expensive and not easily accessible, given the fact how big football and basketball are in the U.S. is a big reason why hockey isn't main stream.

Comparing swinging a bat and a hockey stick is about the same as comparing using a knife to a gun. Not to mention the fact of how a stick is used in hockey as part of the game compared to a bat in baseball. Are all the players on the field wielding bats at the same time? A bat is at least twice as heavy as a stick too.

don't think there's much difference in being stabbed by a knife or being shot by a gun. you'd die either way =P

Swinging a hockey stick at players is NOT part of the game.

Just like checking players IS part of the game but running a player into the boards from behind is NOT part of the game.

Who cares if a bat is 2x as heavy. Swing hard enough with a stick and you will do plenty of damage.

Source? Absolute crap is they give him 1 game which is basically just evening up the Nurse suspension. Although Darnell sitting for a game can't hurt the Oil too bad. Suppose the league has to follow through, instigator on Nurse was a bad call by the refs so not the leagues fault. They can't exactly come out and say there officials are doing a bad job.
- ruttager17

If it was a bad call, they would have rescinded the instigator penalty. They did rescind two late instigator penalties during the season.

Yeah but it's a 'Hockey play' and 'playoff Hockey' when Drai possibly gets injured for the rest of the PO's clown...

Try to use a little bit of critical thinking when reading a post. Didn't say swinging a stick at a player is part of the game, said the way a stick is used in the game Vs. a bat in baseball is an awful comparison with poor insight. Watch a game of hockey, when players take a shot is the stick following through towards a player? when they check a player with the puck, are they moving their stick in a motion that goes towards a player?
And a little something called "Physics" cares when swinging a bat vs a hockey stick as the much heavier object has it's mass increased at a far greater rate swinging it. This mass also increases the bat speed. Far different when swinging a much lighter hockey stick.

There isn't much difference? Guns have a range that a knife does not have. A 5 year old could shoot a gun and kill someone far easier than they could with a knife. A person could also defend themselves against someone using a knife, a gun not so much. You try bringing a knife to a gun fight and see how that works out for you bub.
