I love hockey and started playing at 6. It's the only sport I really care about. That said, what Pietrangelo did is why hockey will never be a mainstream sport in the USA. Crazy, uncalled for, undisciplined, etc. He should be suspended for the remainder of the series, at minimum.

Imagine if an MLB player took his bat and hit someone with it. He'd be gone for the season, maybe longer. The NHL really needs to get the bullsh!t out of the game.

as an unbiased fan, i can agree with the Nurse suspension for the 1 game given the instigator penalty. that said, while nurse did come in for him, it was hague that started the fight. as for Pietrangelo, he should get 2-3 games. if this were regular season he would get 7-10 but for this, a non hockey play with a direct intent to injure, that's more than a game IMO.

Thank Sean, I think as an Oiler fan you’re probably outraged by the slash. I don’t know, I watched over and over and it doesn’t look that brutal imo. Suspending either player would be a mistake but you’re right they’ll probably do both just to keep everyone happy.

On the ocurrences on the ice last night: Nurse should not have been assessed an instigator because he came in to even up the numbers and Hague initiated the fight. Pietrangelo stuck with anger and was just unlucky to not hit a critical part of the body on Drai with the slash. Nurse should not be suspended and Pietro should be given at least 3 games for intent to injure. Let's see what the dis-functional player safety group decides.

Is Nurse guilty of instigating, sure... but its obviously in response to what I believe is a deliberate intent to injure. Piet lost control. All control. Easily could have broke something on Draisaitl (Hand/face/finger etc). Its one of the most blatant "attacks" in NHL history.

If Nurse gets a game, and i don't think many will bemoan that too much despite from my understanding similar situations being overturned, Piet should get 2-3.

And Nurse officially got a game...

Thanks tips, I’ll go look it up and see if they got a picture of AP slashing. This series is full of controversial crap, just before the slash Kane runs AP from behind. I’m a big fan of Draisitle but he’s a sneaky dirty player sometimes, to me that’s a good thing. Kane running at AP in game 3 and cross checking him in the face, there’s been so much building up to this point. 1 game just to even it out.
