Jets fans are afraid the Habs will offersheet Dubois with a 1yr deal just under 6.3M

Compensation would be a 1st and a 3rd, if the Jets match, they can't trade him until then end of the season

Question I have and can't find the answer anywhere, does it have to be the Habs own 1st/3rd or can it be any picks the Habs have for the next draft (ex: Panthers 1st and Habs 3rd)?

- Symba007

Offer sheet likely not until after this year's draft no?

From Seravelli: The Penguins will hire a president and a general manager; they’re going to be two separate positions. On top of that, I believe the Penguins, who have been very quiet throughout this process, are nearing the end of their first round of interviews.

I’m going to throw a list of some of the names that have been in the mix. Some of these candidates are for GM, others are for president of hockey operations, so they are speaking to quite a long list of people. Those include: Marc Bergevin, former GM of the Montreal Canadiens, Jason Botterill, current assistant GM for the Seattle Kraken, John Chayka who is also in the Flyers’ search, Mathieu Darche from the Tampa Bay Lightning, and one other name in the mix is Ryan Martin, assistant GM for the New York Rangers.

People are still considering Chayka? Really?

He will appeal and tie it up in court til after he is dead, but use it to rile up his base about woke agenda, fake media lies and how he is the most persecuted, yet totally innocent, person in the history of humanity.

Pretty sure it has to be their own first.
- Scabeh

any offer sheet compensations has to be a team's own draft picks.

and considering PLD was clear he wants to be a Habs, that pretty much set the price if a trade should happen

Anyone but the Leafs, Sens and Bruins is fine with me.

Although... Vegas just might make the list one day...

maybe it's just me but I don't find these have been the most entertaining playoffs so far...

I don't know, I think they've been pretty entertaining.

Between the Panthers coming back and eliminating Boston, Toronto finally passing the first round, Seattle eliminating the cup Champs and the Devils beating their rival with a rookie after trailing 0-2... plenty of great stories and we're only halfway to the cup.

BOS-FLA was good, other than that, sure there are some good "stories" but I don't find the games themselves were very exciting, a lot of blowouts. but it's cool if people are entertained

The only scenario where they trade that pick is because they traded up or down a few spots.

But they are drafting in that top 10 for sure.

The trick is to have kids so you cannot start watching before the middle of the 2nd period.

I wouldn't pay much for him as anything more than 60 point player. Why not just wait another season and sign him as FA? Its not the Habs are going to be much better this coming season and really shouldn't be giving away assets while trying to rebuild.
