Any trading of JTM is a major shift in direction. There would be a bigger game plan if it happened. His cap out is more to do with other contracts & the whom that are harder to negotiate. I see it as the lesser option tbh. Patience & move out other contracts 1 at a time I believe is what will happen.

I thought JTM would not be traded until I seen the Canucks mention about Carlsson. Now I am at the point of I can see them taking a run at this. Doesn't mean it will happen but I do think they will offer.

I posted earlier when Canucks have drafted a top five Swede it turned out to be good for the team. I don't like the way the Sedins played but I would be crazy to say they did not influence the team.

Yup those 2 trades weren’t cheap.

Allvin has bared down & grinding it out since then. His next big moves will be interesting & open to argue.

I like that at least he is trying.

It is going to be a lot of movement by teams that were not satisfied with how the season ended. There will be lots of GMs looking to change things up and make adjustments.

For me the real season starts after the playoffs. I have patience and I think some positives will come out of the offseason.

- VANTEL

Totally agree post PO’s the real fun will begin. Many teams will have evaluated their teams & will bring on changes. Once the cap is totally clear especially if a bigger than 1m increase is what will make GM’s wait on. If no increase it will be a dull & difficult offseason unless teams pay heavy prices one way or another to dump cap etc.

Imo it’s posturing & doing due diligence. Let’s wait & see lol

It could be playing poker like what many GM’s do. There will always be something that surprises us.

We need him to try. Too much needed to be done if in 2 years he fully expects to be competitive each & every season. In 2-3 years time more prospects will be filtering into the line up. What precedes that will be open to much debate

I seen Neem comment about Bergevin and I can see his point but man I love his style. Strip it down and build it up in one summer. Different circumstances seeing it was the bubble playoffs but man he built an exciting team in one year.

The following year the went from the top to the bottom and picked up the first OA some really young great players. His trades and acquisitions were very good IMO and the team is still benefiting from his wild west show.

There is always good and bad no matter who the GM. I would like to see a team in Vancouver next year that is exciting to watch and not just another layer of crap that has been piled on year after year.

Allvin continues to make the rounds with Swedish media.

Reiterated his desire for finding a third line centre and improving the defense.

Interesting comments on Hoglander & how his confidence suffered before the coaching change and how impressed they are with his play in Abby

.....................................................................................

I have heard a few times to expect Hogs back next year. He looked like Abbys best player by far.

For Hogs to make the lineup and Mik coming back with 4M cap rise we could be looking at these lines:

Mik Petey Kuz
Beauv JTM BB
Podz 3LC Garland
Hogs Aman Joshua
Kravtsov

3LC UFA guess Sunquivst or Eller

Something along those lines. Depends on coaching philosophy on how to build lines. 3 lines balanced depth be my guess. 4th line has to be better than eating some TOI. Ability to roll out 4 lines is needed these days to be competitive if wanting to be serious.

I think Nemec or Carlsson would sell more tickets than JTM IMO

Plus saving $$ dumping JTM make buying out OEL easier.

Initially but results would be what it comes down to. Many fans want draft & develop & say patience but I cannot take that seriously. Fans too easily want to complain & too fickle for my liking. Canadian markets are tough on teams.

Do you think JTM puts butts in the seats? I don't. Nothing against him, I think he is a fine player but I don't think people are paying money to come see him.

Arizona doesn't even know where they are going to play, let alone who they gonna draft, rumblings that players might not report if it's a lame duck season in a 5000 seat college arena, NHLPA is going to force a move
- onesmallleap

Players choosing not to get paid millions… ya that seems likely. They pick 6th, Michkov sliding that low would be a gift.

There is that I just don’t like moving JTM cuz of other bad contracts. Makes C a problem but if it happens then comes down to all the other changes needed done.

Costly if at all possible. Carlson is perfect for CBJ. I rather Canucks take Simashev. I hope he’s still available. Watching playoffs he’s the type of big great skating D man they need.
- Quinn's Quest

Ya that’s the guy I’ve been voting for too, I don’t hate the idea of trading up for Carlsson though, seems like a very good fit for us.

He’s not that type of player but winning will make it moot. Say he’s moved then what holes are leftover & how will it be dealt with?

My summer predictions for trades.

JTM and our first for CBJ first. Costly yes but third OA don't go for nothing

Podz Rathbone Raty for Lafreniere

Myers minus 2 mil for Rasmussen

Boeser for Zaitsev. Not a good swap but I think something like that will happen.

- VANTEL

Yikes that last trade is disgusting. I like the myers and jtm ones, not bad.

Trending well & good for the future or if Demko goes down. Cannot have enough good goalie prospects.

Nobody disagrees but it’s dicey on how to move forward. ‘Major Surgery’ is fine but how it’s done will be the challenge. We don’t have any top 6 C prospects let alone ready for 3C.

I agree about the last one. I am not saying I like the proposals I posted I just think something similar will happen. Zaitsev fills a RHD and toughness issue. I am aware of his weaknesses, but it puts checkmarks in boxes of RHD, Toughness, saving on Boeser's cap hit and one less year.

It is not pretty for sure but who is offering value for Boeser?

There hasn’t been a lot of value offered on most trades. Flat Cap crunch has all the bottom feeders extorting teams.

Zaitsev at 1/4.5m has big negative value. Brock isn’t close to that. More like a 5m sniper who can bounce back even though he still did put up points.

Boeser to Washington or the Pens would be a fit. Some other teams could would be in the mix. Habs Detroit maybe & others.
