I think the Canucks are happy with the ref's protecting them. They aren't built to cope with the physicality of post season play.

The next 2 years needs 2-3 contracts to be gone. Myers is a given. OEL is a cap conundrum. Leaves Garland & 1 other winger.

Cannot see it any other way if need to resign Petey & Hronek & still add top 4 D help. Expecting some serious cap increases next year & beyond after escrow is paid back.

Our lack of D grit is a problem. The forward group isn’t fast enough & lacks grit. Once or if D can be remade it will be a big improvement.

Are you still defending that franchise?

Did I not just say they should’ve been relocated ten years ago?

I'm enjoying watching post season play, hopefully Tocchet & Allvin have their notebooks out.

I guess I have difficulty accepting some will GM say yes we are willing to move up three spots and give you an extra pick of ours 13 spots later so we can get a forward they want even though there are 10 more just like him.

The final 4 pretty much all commit to defence & play the right way. It’s a winning formula if total buy in. One more reason we need defensive D & a 200’ 3C.

It is more reasonable if Ops want D like ASP to fill need & BPA. Other option if a C is there & the Canucks target say Simashev & sweetener to trade down or a package to move cap.

I have watched about 20 minutes of the playoffs so far. Okay maybe 30 but that's it. Couldn't care less up to now who wins and with the four remaining teams I don't see my viewing minutes increasing.

I will be honest I hope they are looking at moving the 11th and fixing that D with a further developed D or a young playing D like NYI did last year.

From all the talk I have seen on here there is no certainty who everyone has focused in on. This thread is all over the place with who people hope they get so I get the feeling there are no hot prospect, just prospects.

Probably because you don’t really follow hockey enough, it happens all the time. 2021 Minnesota moved up two spots, 21 to 19, gave the Oilers a 3rd round pick for it. Predators also did it, gave the Hurricanes two second round picks for the Hurricanes first round pick. Canes moved back 13 spots.

I've watched quite a few games, I enjoy FLA. Seattle played well also. It's pretty clear VAN is a long way from playing meaningful hockey.

I am sure it is good hockey, but I have no interest in them. Me personally I don't believe Canucks are as far off as most here think. I look at their terrible season last year and they missed the playoffs by six wins.

I think if they have an active summer and make smart choices plus get better goaltending next year they could be in the mix.

If they sit idle this summer then sure it will be boring again next year and so on. It doesn't take a lot to fix things. Smart GMs figure out a way.

As pointed out yesterday you are not the sharpest stool, but Minny moved up to make sure they got a goalie seeing they targeted a goalie and there are very few available unlike the 10 forwards that are similar that I pointed out there was available at the 11 th spot. Big difference but you are too busy admiring yourself in the mirror to follow along properly.

Slow that @ArizonaCoyotes relocation talk down for now.

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly tells ESPN: "I don’t envision a scenario in which the Coyotes are not playing in Mullett Arena next season."

Coyotes have confirmed. Story soon.

I too don’t think the Canucks are as far off as many would think. A better commitment to team D goes a long ways. A healthy Miky will help. Boeser bouncing back. Hronek an obvious upgrade on D. Move out cap & add 1 key D. 1 more year older & more experienced. Add it all up & a much better season will happen.
