Podkolzin needs to take a big step forward next year, he’s still young but he’ll be 22 next season, time to see some progress. He’s been very underwhelming.

I think people put way too much pressure/expectations on kids. People in here were making fun of TO for drafting Verhaeghe and then him bouncing around and coming back to bite them 10 years later when he broke out. Albeit different circumstances... kids take different paths. He doesn't have to take a big step next year, hopefully just A step.

McDavid, Pasta and M. Tkachuk nominated for the Hart Trophy.
- LeftCoaster

Said at seasons start this would be a triple crown year for McDavid.

Yes and no, he’s still young, as I stated. That said, he wasn’t a third round pick, like Verhaeghe, he was a top ten pick in the entire world. Expectations should be high. It’s more Benning’s fault for taking him there, not Podkolzin’s, but those picks collectively make or break your franchise over time.

Yup, Olli Juolevi & Jake Virtanen are going to make us regret moving on from them.

Ultimately he’s going to turn into a version of Kravstov, someone else’s project, that’s just my opinion. He works hard, shows flashes of talent, but far too often he plays on the outside.

A friend brought me some halibut and I got blue berries in the freezer so it's Hali-berries-butt for dinner.

There's a world of difference between not being worth your draft slot and not being worth re-signing and playing in your lineup.

This town when the suns out is a wonderful thing, the beaches are full of amazing women!

When a punk I was a staple at Kitsilano beach. Lots of wow there.

Adding to that Russians take awhile longer to adjust. Patience 👍

He could use sitting in the video room & watch Burrows tape for days & weeks on end. A player he should try to emulate imo.

I've seen some flashes from Kravstov, same with Pod. They both seem a long way out.

Against LA in 1993 was it? Oh, just looked it up, they played three rounds in 2002, 1999, 1994 & 1978 as well.

Canucks have only done it three times.

- LeftCoaster

Leafs have never been to the 4rth round... ever.

Every time the Canucks made it to round 3, they moved on to the finals.

Benning busts

JV
OJ
Pod (incomplete)

- VanHockeyGuy

OJ was a bust. JV, as disappointing as he was because of where he was selected... is still not a bust.

317 games played, 55 goals, 100 points.... lousy but not a bust.

What I noticed was FLA was just crushing Tavares every time he touched the puck.

No pushback from TO, very much like the passive Vancouver Canucks.

Battle of the Expansion teams in the WCF, would sell more franchises.

Can you imagine. If Seattle had a star player/forward to go with their depth they could - go - all - the - way.
